Chapter 24

Nene's POV

A beep from my phone pulled me out of my thought. I reluctantly pulled out my phone and saw that it was a message from L.D. At first i didn't want to click on the text message to read but i did anyway and it read:

"My Angel, it's all set. Made reservation for us at Diamond Heart Restaurant. I'll pick you up at 7pm.

Ola😍"

Ola?? I looked at my phone again to confirm that it's L.D's number. It's his number... he has never addressed himself as 'Ola'. I was somehow surprise at this and also i hadn't gotten over the words Lola said to me. I really didn't feel like going on a date with him anymore.

Does it even make sense to go on a date with someone who isn't sure if he loves me or not, Someone who is pretending to have feelings for me just so he can have his way with me? I wanted to call off this date and the whole couple thing but my heart would not have it. I still love him despite all i've heard about him.

After some minutes, i made up my mind to end it all with L.D so i sent him a text saying:

"Thanks, i really don't think going on a date will be possible. I'm just not up for it. I'm so sorry for making you go through all the trouble of making a reservation for us."

He replied almost immediately my text showed delivered:

"Angel, what's wrong? Why did you cancel? Did i do something wrong? I thought you were excited about this? Talk to me."

I replied his text:

"It has nothing to do with you. You didn't do anything wrong... I just don't want to go on any date with you anymore. I don't think being your girlfriend is a good idea. I'm sorry, i can't be your girlfriend."

Immediately, my phone went off ringing nonstop to which i didn't answer. I laid on my bed crying as the phone rang continuously.

Minutes later, i heard a loud noise downstairs, more like an argument so i got off my bed and went out of my room. I heard L.D arguing with Lola.

"Did you tell Nene to call off our relationship? Huh?! Did you tell her not to go out with me tonight?! You threatened me earlier and suddenly she doesn't want to have anything to do with me!! What did you tell her?! Let me see her! I have to see her and talk... let me in! Nene! Nene!" L.D yelled at the top of his voice.

"What do you mean?! Why would you even think i told her anything? Look, if she told you she doesn't want to see you then accept it in good faith and stop causing a scene here! You are embarrassing yourself acting like a high school kid!!" Lola yelled back.

"Accept what in good faith?! Did you say I'm embarrassing myself?! Me, causing a scene?! I really don't give a hoot if i do any of those! Oooh! I should have known you'll do this to me! You are freaking manipulative and deceptive! You just can't stand me being with Nene! I know you hate my guts. This is so unfair! Please, let me just have a word with her... ok, i won't go in, you just call her out and let her tell me face to face, all the things she wrote via text message. I want to hear them from her to be sure she meant every word she wrote. Please, Lola." He pleaded.

"Nene! Nene!! Nene!!! Please, Come out! Face me! Tell me to my face.... all you wrote, is it true?!... ooh! Lola, call her out, please!" L.D called out for me and continued to plead with Lola.

"Please leave my house, right now!!" Lola screamed.

I watched as L.D and Lola struggled with the front door so i rushed downstairs and shouted:
