I unlocked the door and stumbled into the house closing the door behind me relocking it sitting by the counter laying my head on the cool marble countertop. I heard steps behind me, “you know you can come to Jake or I if anything is wrong right?” I nodded, “so why are you hiding something?” tears sprung to my eyes, “I don’t wanna ruin the Christmas spirit.” he sighed sitting next to me brushing a piece of hair behind my ear, “hun your health is way more important than Christmas.” he raised his wrist pressing it against my forehead, “oh my god you’re burning up.” I leaned against his chest, “I don’t feel good Blake make it stop.” he ran his hand through my hair, “oh sweetheart I wish I could.” a tear ran down my face and he lifted my head brushing it away smiling at me. We locked eyes and he started to lean in when I heard my dad clear his throat, “pumpkin what’s wrong are you sick?” he walked over putting his wrist against my forehead, “c’mon let’s take you to the hospital you’re running a fever, you probably have the flu.” I nodded as I stood my legs gave out from underneath me causing me to collapse and hit my head off the counter making me yelp I pressed my hand to the area to hit letting out a sigh of relief when I didn’t see any blood. Suddenly I was grabbed into someone’s arms when I looked up I sat Blake holding I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned my head against his chest closing my eyes, “Blake put me down.” he hesitated, “what?” I jumped out of his arms running over the nearby bushes getting sick again and I heard my dad sigh, “why didn’t you tell us sooner.” tears raised into my eyes again, “I’m sorry I just didn’t wanna ruin the Christmas spirit.” Blake took me into his arms again and sat with me in the backseat all the way to the hospital. I looked into his beautiful green eyes, “thank you for everything Blake I mean it.” he nodded, “of course.” he smiled looking up when the car stopped, “here we are.” I groaned reaching into my pocket and pulled out the card from earlier giving it to my dad, “here I ran into a nurse earlier and she said to request and she seemed nice enough.” he nodded climbing out of the car and Blake did the same picking me up after stretching his legs for a moment we walked in and the same woman greeted me sighing, “follow me to her room she looks worse than when I saw her earlier.” I closed my eyes clearing my mind as he laid me down on the hospital bed.
