I quietly ate dinner avoiding eye contact from everyone until my dad said, “so Lucille and I have an announcement to make.” The slowly unzipped their jackets so I followed suite and some people let out a shocked gasp and then congratulations and Norman stared at me silently asking if I was okay with this and I gave a slight nod to him to let him know that I was after everyone gave a hug to Lucille and my dad Lucille stood up and said, “well I’m tired so I think that I’m ready to go home.” she looked at my dad and he seemed too absorbed in his conversation with his friends to notice so I grabbed the keys off the table and told Norman, “hey we’re leaving tell him text me when we’re ready and I’ll pick him up.” he nodded and turned back to his conversation with Andy when I saw Chandler staring at me, but I brushed it off and grabbed Lucille’s arm, “ready?” she nodded letting out a small yawn, “yeah let’s go.” we walked out to the car and I started to drive when she asked me, “are you really ok with this?” I hesitated, “well at first I was scared that my dad was gonna replace me and forget about me dealing with you and the baby, but I realized that I was being selfish and that you were family too and that the baby is gonna need a lot more attention than I do.” I looked over at her for a brief second and smiled at her, “you’re family now and I’m sorry that I shunned away from you the first day I met you.” she shrugged, “it’s fine I wasn’t expecting you to be okay with it this quick after all I expected you to hate me for stealing your dad from you.” I sighed, “I was mad at first because of a promise that I made when he first adopted me, but I quickly realized that he isn’t going to forget about me and I was just overreacting anyway plus it’s kinda nice to have a female figure I can look up to as a mother figure.” she didn’t reply and I saw her asleep leaning against the window and I smiled I quietly drove home and picked her up bridal style and struggled a little getting up the stairs but I managed I opened the bedroom door and laid her down on the bed I quickly took off her shoes and changed her into some more comfortable clothes since Iassumed she didn’t want to sleep in that uncomfortable dress. I got changed into some more comfortable clothing and texted Steven, “hey dinner went well and I just got home.” I sent the text and decided to do something I hadn’t done in a while I grabbed my camera setting it on the tripod and set in in front of my bed and grabbed my guitar I pressed record and started my intro, “hey guys it’s Gabriel and I’m going to sing a song called Strong by One Direction.” I strummed the beginning chords and started singing
My hands, your hands
Tied up like two ships
Drifting, weightless
Waves try to break it
I'd do anything to save it
Why is it so hard to say it?
My heart, your heart
Sit tight like bookends
Pages between us
Written with no end
So many words we're not saying
Don't wanna wait 'til it's gone
You make me strong
I'm sorry if I say, "I need you"
But I don't care,
I'm not scared of love
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker
Is that so wrong?
Is it so wrong
That you make me strong?
Think of how much
Love that's been wasted
People always
Trying to escape it
Move on to stop their heart breaking
But there's nothing I'm running from
You make me strong
I'm sorry if I say, "I need you"
But I don't care,
I'm not scared of love
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker
Is that so wrong?
Is it so wrong?
So, baby, hold on to my heart, oh, oh
Need you to keep me from falling apart
I'll always hold on
'Cause you make me strong
I'm sorry if I say, "I need you"
But I don't care
I'm not scared of love
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker
Is that so wrong?
Is it so wrong?
I'm sorry if I say, "I need you"
But I don't care,
I'm not scared of love
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker
Is that so wrong?
Is it so wrong
That you make me strong?
I'm sorry if I say, "I need you"
But I don't care,
I'm not scared of love
'Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker
Is that so wrong?
Is it so wrong
That you make me strong
I finished the song and pressed stop. I posted the video and grabbed my phone, posting a picture of my guitar captioning it, “just released a new video hope you guys like it.” and I got a text from my dad saying that he was done socializing and ready to get picked up I got up and drove to the restaurant and picked him up driving home.
