Soobin opened his eyes slowly, he shivered a bit, feeling strangely cold. . . As if something was missing. . .

He sat up, stretching. He looked beside him and realized that Huening Kai was gone, he didn't think too much about it though, the former angel had always been a morning bird.

But his worries began to kick in as he didn't find the former angel chilling at the living room or surprising him with french toasts at the kitchen.

"Ning Ning. . .?" He called, scratching his head with confusion. He walked around, looking and checking everywhere.

There was no sign of his boyfriend anywhere.

He ran back to his room, grabbing his phone and pressing Huening Kai's contact number. He walked around, his heart beating with nervousness. Not in the six years that he had dated Huening Kai had he felt like this.

As his phone beeped to leave a message, Soobin looked over at the bed, noticing something that he hadn't seen when he woke up.

Right on Huening Kai's pillow, lay a long, dove-like feather with a slight pinkish hue.

Soobin lowered his phone away from his ear as he gently grabbed the feather.

He hadn't seen a feather as familiar as this in over six years.

Soobin looked up, his eyes widening as he seemed to figure out what had happened to Huening Kai.

A dove then settled just outside his window. A pretty ribbon gently tied around its neck to hold a small rolled up piece of paper as it pecked the window as if confirming Soobin's theory.

An angel. . . He thought, going over and opening the window.

The messenger flew in, settling down on his shoulder and lowering its head.

Soobin untied the ribbon around the messenger's neck and grabbed the paper, sitting back and unrolling it.

"Letter to Choi Soobin.

Our fellow brother, guard angel

Huening Kai, has returned to our

courts and won't return until

further notice. He's currently

working on solving a case that you

two are mildly involved in.
.
.
.

PS. This is why you don't fall in love with your guard angel, you moron.

~Sincerely, the messengers' court~"

Soobin froze, he looked at the dove as it flew off into the sky. His mouth gaped open, having even more questions than answers and feeling incredibly lost.

Beomgyu was comfortably snuggled against Yeonjun. The younger stretched, letting his arm hang off the couch lazily.

He let out a small smile, enjoying the calming sound of Yeonjun's heartbeats. . . But the moment was shattered when his phone began to ring.

Beomgyu opened his eyes, lifting his head up and grabbing his phone.

"Turn it off, tell them you're busy." Yeonjun groaned sleepily, wrapping his arms around Beomgyu's waist, clearly not wanting to lose the younger's hard-earned attention.
