Chapter 12

Huening Kai stared from the kitched at Soomin as she pulled Taehyun's hair. "Will you quit that?!" Taehyun said sharply grabbing Soomin and picking her up, his eyebrows furrowed with annoyance as the toddler laughed.

"Ugh, she's got the ugliest laugh too." He turned to Huening Kai. "How can she be Soobin's relative?!" He stared back at Soomin as she tried to reach for his face. 

Huening Kai laughed putting his hand on his hip. "Come one now Soomin, leave uncle Taehyun alone."

"Uncle? Don't you dare and try to connect me to this. . . This. . .What even are you? You can't be that lovely angeling. . ." He turned Soomin upside down, examining her as she continued to laugh. "Yeah. . . You can't be the angeling that I helped reincarnate, let alone be Minjun's daughter." 

Huening Kai widened his eyes with panic as he ran towards Taehyun, taking the toddler away from the rough angelic deputy. "Don't hold her like that! You'll make her blood rush to her head." He brushed Soomin's hair out of her face as she sucked her thumb while smiling at Taehyun.

"Didn't you learn anything when dealing with angelings?" Huening Kai asked as Soomin reached and squeezed his nose.

Taehyun nodded looking up at him. "Of course I did." He raised his brow at Huening Kai and Soomin. "They certainly don't make you sound like a pig while talking."

Huening Kai widened his eyes before taking Soomin's hand away from his nose. "Excuse you Mr. Grump." He sat down crisscrossed in front of Taehyun and sat Soomin on his lap. "That's not a nice thing to say, right Soomin?" Soomin looked at Taehyun before standing up and falling onto his lap. 

Taehyun glared at Soomin harshly, about to strike another comment at the 4 year-old.

Huening Kai snapped his finger and pointed at his friend. "Taehyun shush. Don't you dare say a word."

"But she's-" Taehyun stopped as the toddler sat on his lap, hugging him. "Fine. . . I guess this is not too bad. . ."

Huening Kai let out a sigh. "Why can't you be a little more like Soobin? He's great with kids."

"Kai, I'm not Soobin. Plus. . ." The angel placed his hand on Soomin's back, rubbing it gently as she snuggled against him. "What are you talking about?" He let out a chuckle. "Kids are terrified of him."

Huening Kai blinked twice before remembering how Soobin had scared a whole crowd of kids away that one day at the park.

He lifted his face up, interlocking his fingers with Soomin's as she tried to touch his face one again. "He might be terrifying, but he really is father material if you asked me."

Huening Kai let out a laugh, shaking his head at Taehyun. "I bet." He raised eyebrow smirking at Taehyun. "But do you think he'll propose?"

Taehyun smirked back. "He'll do it someday." 

Huening Kai groaned with annoyance before rolling to the side.

"You good?" Taehyun stared at Huening Kai. "Did Soobin break you already?"

"No. . . But he'll do it someday. I'm sure of it." Huening Kai replied, glaring at Taehyun as the angel let out a laugh, slapping Soomin's hand away as she tired to take his flower crown off.

"The only thing I can tell you is that you need to be patient." Huening Kai opened his mouth, but before he could say anything, Taehyun turned to Soomin.

"You know what?" He finally said with annoyance, taking his flower crown off and putting it on Soomin's small head. 

"You wear it! Jeez, just ask! Don't touch my face or hair when you want something!"
