Chapter Fourteen

I roll my eyes taking a dip in, my arms raised over the water as I feel it reach my chest. The cold makes me shiver a bit, I clench my fists and shut my tight. I open them and continue to follow Helena. We arrive to a gate with a red light in the middle, I look over seeing a ladder. It was too far up, damn. Leon kneels and lets Helena jump to the top, she lands with ease and starts to move farther. I slowly let my hands drop into the water, letting my body adjust to the temperature. 

"We never get a body of water that's warm, and you're still not used to it." I turn my body a bit, only allowing my torso to shift. Leon stands over me with a smirk.

"Don't start with me, I'm not in the mood." He chuckles as I look back to the gate, seeing Helena go to the other side. 

She finds a lever and starts twisting it, allowing the two sides of the gate to separate. I walk through and see stairs leading up. I try to walk but I feel my legs get grabbed from below, I go under and see a zombie holding onto me. I take out my blade about to swing before the fish from before grabs us. I struggle in the jaw of the fish, squirming around the teeth and the zombie flesh. I stab the thing with my blade and quickly swim up, my lungs get filled with oxygen as I go over to a ledge. I pull my self up and stand up seeing Leon gripping onto the chain, how'd I get so far apart?

"Are you alright!?" Leon shouts, I hold up my left hand giving a thumbs up.

"I'm great! Just great..." I look around and find a way up, I look back seeing zombies start coming in. "Leon!" He stops walking and stare at me. "Cover me!" He nods and I toss my blade into the air.

I turn around and see the path, I fight off some infected as I try to slide by. A large blade pops out, I run and slide under. I stop to see three more, I run and do a no-hand flip forward, I land and see zombies get chopped up, great more time to run. I see a crank and start turning it, I then see a gate open, Leon and Helena run through. I turn the corner seeing a gate for my path as well, I tuck hair behind my ear and look for another crank. Shit, the crank must be on their side, I have to fight them off for now.

I swing my blade around and stab one in the head, I duck seeing an arm fly over my head. I turn and kick the zombie in the stomach. I look back and continue to stab two more, I spin and slice the one I kicked back in the neck. Three fall and I watch as the gate open for me, more start to come in. Shit! I run and make my way to the gate, it stops midway through not opening all the way. I jump through the middle part and roll, I turn and see Leon and Helena waiting for me. 

The gate closes making me look at it, I stable my breathing and walk towards them. I put away my blade and place my hands on my hips.

"So, how was your guys path?" I jokingly say, Leon smirks a bit and looks at Helena.

"Come on, let's get this door opened." Helena says taking one lever, Leon grabs the other and they both pull down.

A large sound surrounds us, I take one step towards Leon about to make a comment until the floor under us opens. We all yell as we fall straight down. I open my eyes and look around, I try to get up but my foot slips off the ledge. My body hangs half way off, letting both my arm and foot dangle. I confusingly look down seeing Leon's arm grasping me, before I could say anything I feel his breath on my ear.

"Careful." I hear him say, he pulls me closer to him, making my body go on the floor beneath us completely.
