Chapter Twenty-Six

(Leon's Point of View)

We get in the elevator, I walk up to the glass allow myself to look down. I watch things explode, flames coming and disappearing. Y/N...she really did have her own problems this time, and I couldn't believe her. Every time she leaves and comes back, at first she seems different but changes back to her own self later. I exhale softly, keeping my head low, Helena's shadow come sup closer behind me.

"She's more than just a friend, isn't she?" Silence fills the room, I turn my head towards Helena, still looking down. "You have feelings for her." After her saying that my eye shoots up, we both look at each other. She returns my stare with a friendly smile, but not showing her teeth.

An explosion happens behind us, I turn to look. I couldn't react in time, as the elevator separates from the building. Helena falls back, holding onto the railings as I get slammed on the other side. Helena and I meet eye contact, we look towards the now shattered glass, seeing the second elevator. We jump and land, almost falling entirely, we decide to climb up the elevator cables. 

(Y/N Point of View)

Ada lands the helicopter on the helipad, I hop off and and reload my gun. I take out my stick and set it down, Ada heels make noise. I turn towards her, seeing her amused expression towards my actions. I bet she's happy seeing me drop the calm and collected act, she smirks and nudges me to follow her. 

We walk up and see explosions from afar, fire is capturing different parts of the building. Ada and I exchange glances and sprint up, seeing more fire appear, this is chaos. Something isn't right, we get into the building seeing everything broken or covered with flames. We walk down the hall, we both stop as a window explodes. We go up to the empty frame and look down seeing Simmons stand there and wait for us. 

We hear a noise that makes us look up, it was a broken elevator coming down. Ada scoffs and crosses her arm as we wait.

"Perfect." Ada calmly says as we both prepare to jump, we fly through the air and land. Simmons yells our name and turns into a beast. 

Gunshots spray at the elevator, making me confused. He going to--I grunt as the elevator shakes violently. I take out my grapple gun and shoot it, I snatch Ada by the waist and fly towards the nearest surface. We land and spot Simmons right across from us, I click my gun retrieving the grapple. I put it away and let go of Ada while pulling out my pistol.

"Let me guess, you do that to all the ladies, huh?" I roll my eyes and shake my head, as I aim my gun at him. "Here." She tosses me a drive, "that's the rest of the evidence, I know you have yours. Download it onto yours, quickly!" 

She runs towards Simmons as I take out my device, plugging the two drives. I press the button downloading the evidence, this is gonna take a while. I watch the bar slowly go up, I start to get nervous seeing Ada fight him off by herself. I curse under my breath and hide my device in my coat. Ada goes up to a higher level, Simmons notices me just standing there. I panic pulling out my grapple gun. 

Simmons shoots up at the building above me, I grapple as it crashes down. I unclick my grapple again, feeling myself slowly fall in mid-air. I grapple again, and land on the same platform Simmons is on. I shoot at him and run, seeing his large claw lift off of him, he slams in onto the ground as I roll away. I continue to shoot until he's hurt, he transforms back into his human self. 

I jump on him, and grab him by his neck. I punch him hard in the face, til I see black blood seep through. I choke him by the neck and lift him up, only to high-kick him in the face. I run back seeing smoke leave him. He transforms back.
