Chapter Sixteen

Our hands both release the bars, seeing the gate open. We turn and see a ledge, we start swimming feeling watched. Helena aims her gun down watching over us, we keep swimming not looking back. The fish appears popping up, we ignore it and let Helena handle it for now. The fish retreats and we make it to the ledge. I get up and help him out, we meet with Helena and find another gate.

We run up to it seeing we have to walk in the water a bit. I take a deep breath and allow myself to calm down. I notice the gate was broken, I thought quickly and started pushing it. Helena and Leon joins in, I turn my head seeing the fish right behind us. We almost make it through, until the fish pushes us. We flow through another current and see it following us, we have to kill it. 

We shoot at it for awhile, seeing no change appear. A barrel appears with red text, Leon fires at it making it explode. We fly back and land in another body of water, I swim and grab on a floating piece of wood. Planes fly above us, I watch it go over the forest and land, seeing fire through the air.

"Evidence--he's destroying it." I stare letting my eyes get captured by the flames, seeing it as light.

We find the shore, and angrily swipe the dirty water off our bodies. Helena and Leon stare back, seeing the light still there. A call comes in, they start talking as I overhear the location China appear. Leon mentions something about faking their deaths, I turn surprised, before saying anything I get a call. I answer and walk away giving good distance between them and I.

"Glad to hear you're alright." Ada states, I look back on them and quickly change focus to her  face. "You're gonna need of change of clothes, take this plane, you'll have everything you need." I get another ding, she sent me a message. "Don't be late, China is waiting for us." She smirks and I end the call.

I grip the device and turn around back to them. I send Leon the same message, he looks at it not giving me his comment.

"A flight to China." He then looks back down.

Before I know it, I'm on the flight. I change my clothes, seeing the change of attire, I stare at my coat, covering my body up to my upper-thighs. High smooth black shorts cover my stomach, my eyes then scroll up to my shirt, seeing a black crop-top. Same thing as the shorts but it only covers  my neck, leaving half my back open. I put on my shoes, seeing that she picked out boots for me. It only goes up to my knee--damn Ada, I need more cover. I open one more case, seeing a grappling gun. 

I hide the gun behind my back, letting my coat cover it. I open the door and walk out to our seats, I slide across from Leon and watch his eyes connect with mine. 

"You have a plan to follow I'm guessing." He says, letting his head turn to the window. My eyes narrow down to the wooden table.

"Correct. I guess you could tell." Our conversation is dry, he knows I'll be going soon. 

"Back at the cathedral, was it real?" My eyes snap to him, his gaze still focused on the window.

"Why wouldn't it be?" He turns to me, letting his hair dangle in front of his eye. 

"Just making sure I'll see you again." I smile a bit and look down, I shake my head. I turn my head to the window, staring at the clouds pass by. His hand meets mine, I look over and let my eyes find his again.

"I'm serious." I open my mouth about to respond, letting my emotions roam until Helena comes back. Our hands separate as she arrives, my device dings. I look to see it was from Stella, I slide out the seat and allow Helena to take my spot. I hold up my device, signaling them that I have to take this. 

I peel myself away seeing the file, I dial Stella quickly.
