“How much longer did the doctors say she had?” I asked her. I needed to know if I was going to be able to help. She sniffled and said “She has three months left…” Her voice trailed off and she broke into more tears. “I’m so sorry” I said again. “Becca, I need you to stay here. I will be right back.” Her eyes wavered and I said “Promise me you’ll stay here.” She gave me another hug and whispered “I promise.” Good. I nodded and walked to her mother’s room. When I entered, her mom was lying on her bed resembling somebody during slumber. After her mother lashed out at the nurses a few minutes earlier, they had to put her on heavy sedatives again. It made me ache for Becca when I saw her in a state of such pain. The doctors never found a way to heal her, only a way to ease the pain. Though her mother’s pain was eased, Becca suffered from more. She was always in so much pain… I can’t handle her always being in such pain and misery, so I am determined to find a way to make her more content. Her mother did not yet know that I was supernatural. I kept the thought in mind. What I was about to do was for Becca, no matter how many difficulties she gave my life, no matter the sacrifices I will need to make and how many I have made, nothing is worse than seeing her in pain. I loved her and I’d do anything for her. “Who are you?” I looked to see who I presumed was Becca’s father sitting in a chair, next to Becca’s mother. I knew that he would never let me be alone with her mother so I compelled him. “Leave the room; do not come back until I exit the room.” Her father stood up and walked out of the room. I sat down on Becca’s mother’s bed and took her hand. I may not be able to heal people on regular bases but because I was immortal I was able to do some healing. She had roughly three month left to live, so there was still hope for her. Tapping into my immortality, I tried to send a few waves of immortality into her body. If I was able to send small ripples of my immortality into her body, I could heal her cancer. Otherwise, she would die from the energy that was being sent to her body. I have never personally preformed anything like this before but I have heard that it does sometimes work. Taking the risk that her mother might die even earlier then predicted; I tried to heal her for Becca’s sake. If I failed, I had to live with knowing that Becca would hate me for the rest of her life and would haunt me for my eternity. Transferring immortality of a supernatural creature is forbidden because we are not supposed to interfere with human life. But laws are always meant to be broken. Otherwise, what is the point of having laws? I knew that by doing this, I would cause myself to be immensely weakened but that is nothing time cannot fix, especially considering all the time I have. I could feel the flow of my energy swarming around her body; I could feel every inch of her soul and her essence. I could feel her emotion and her pain, accompanied by my own pain. Feeling drained of consciousness I was about to let go of her hand and a mist of thoughts entered my mind. I’m never going to be forgiven of this crime. How will I be able to survive with knowing that Becca will hate me? As the thoughts still swarmed around in my mind, the impossible happened. Becca’s mother sat up gasping. The heart monitor started beeping like crazy and nurses came running into the room, pushing me aside. A laugh escaped my lips, but it sounded more of a grumble. Nurses were running several tests and checking on the patient’s health. Boy, my mother is going to give me a lecture for doing this. I laughed again at the thought of my mother lecturing me. Everything I thought of at the moment seemed outrageously hilarious. Becca must’ve seen the commotion because she was in the room in a flash. She ran towards her mother and I. “What happened?” I smiled at her and whispered, “I healed her.” Her beautiful face was the last thing I saw before I passed out.
