We all got ready to leave for Tanner Rd when I felt a buzz in my pocket. It was a text from Becca. Reading the text, my eyes widened in shock and I quickly texted her back. -I'll keep my eyes peeled for him. I sent the text and a few seconds later she texted back. -Be careful Silas. I love you. Her text sent waves of heat through my body and texted her back. -I will, stay home babe. I love you. I felt as if I was falling in love with her over and over again, everyday. Putting my phone back in my pocket, I looked around the front foyer of my house. Everybody was leaving the house to go to Tanner Rd. The vampires wouldn't expect us at their building so right away; we'd have the upper hand. I had drawn almost everyone a map of the building. The plan was simple. Find Valerie, make her surrender. Otherwise, we would fight. We didn't want to kill off Valerie first because the vampires needed a leader to listen to. It's easier to get one person to surrender then to make everyone surrender. If anyone got in our way of victory, we'd kill them. Everyone had replenished their energy right before our nap. We had told all the Faded Shadows to consume a soul before they came to Sire City so when they came, there wouldn't be sixty deaths in the city. Troy met me outside where I backed out of the driveway and picked him up. Minutes later, we pulled up to Tanner Rd. We stepped out the car and Troy looked to me and said "Game on." I nodded. I had warned everyone about the glamour on the building. We parked our vehicles a few blocks down from the building. Everyone had appointed my mother as leader of this battle because she was one of the oldest and experiences fighters of Faded Shadow history. At her signal, everyone shifted into their natural forms. With every movement, we were careful not to stir up a large wind blow. Every window was locked and the doors were locked too. We had been expecting this so my father morphed into one of the vampires from the building and knocked on the glass. I stood by my father, ready for plan B. Somebody walked towards the doors and said "Sorry man, you know the rules. Nobody is allowed in or out of the building." I looked to my mother and she nodded; plan B was in commence. I stood right in front of my father and changed into my physical form. I saw the vampire gasp but I held his gaze. "You will unlock this door, and then stay where you are and do not make a sound." The vampire nodded and walked towards the door and unlocked it. I pushed open the door and held it open for everyone to enter. Troy came and stood by my side. When everyone was in the building, I closed the door and locked it. Troy pulled up his sleeve and looked towards the vampire. I saw the fright in his eyes. Troy smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder for a moment. Then in one swift motion, he pulled the heart of the vampire out of his chest. The vampire dropped to the ground. Troy licked his fingers "Salty." He said in disgust. Cleaning off the blood with a cloth we continued to walk. Splitting up, we went to different levels of the building. Troy, a few of my siblings, a few of Troy's siblings and I went directly to the fifth floor. At least forty vampires were on this floor, stocking up with weapons. I took out my phone and sent a text to the group chat. -Fifth floor. 40. I was surprised that the vampires didn't move locations considering that one of their "troops" were killed. I guess they didn't realize that we could see through their glamour. My phone buzzed. -Valerie, floor 3.About 60 vamps. Everyone who was with me saw the text too and we headed to the third floor. We all decided to let my father speak to Valerie, in a different form of course. I spotted my father just behind Valerie. She was oblivious to our presence and she was giving orders to her vampires. My father took form of his dead friend, Leonard. His figure wavered and then he was in physical form. "Valerie, look behind you!" Somebody called out. Valerie spun around and threw a punch at my father but easily dodged it by grabbing her arm in the middle of the action. "You can stop planning an attack now. If you're okay with it, I'd like to talk." Valerie's eyes wondered around the room. "Very well then."
