I yawned opening my eyes as I did that weird- exorcism- possessed- kinda thing you do when you wake up. I looked to my left to see Jason was no longer next to me which to be honest, i wasn't shocked by but still upset at. Since Jason wasn't here, I took my time scrolling through snapchat, replying to messages and just gawking at models on Instagram. I got out of bed and brushed my teeth, as I ran my fingers through my hair; a unhealthier alternative to actually using a hairbrush, I stopped in my tracks when leaving our bedroom as I heard voices from below. I didn't know who they belonged, they sounded more like mumbles but I could definitely hear Jason amongst them. I quickly threw on a pair of sweatpants, shockingly, I was not wearing Jason's shirt to sleep and actually wore my own t shirt but I was wearing bed shorts- or as Jason called them 'booty shorts' which I was sure he didn't want me roaming freely in around whoever was downstairs. I didn't feel comfortable doing so either.

I headed downstairs but as I did, the mumbles had become almost non existent. That was up until when I saw the basement door was a little open, it was the basement that was Jason's hangout area for him and his friends, I never went down there mainly because it smelt badly of weed and well, men, and I was happier in the other basement which was only for Jason to be in which is where he kept his equipment and guns.

Nevertheless, when hearing a very familiar voice which belonged to my brother, I couldn't help but listen. I tried my best not to make any noises, thankfully, unlike the stairs in Jason's other personal basement which were wooden, these stairs were marble stone and very fancy. In fact, this entire basement was fancy as Jason had it redone just like the house, same sort of colours and all. It even had a wine cellar. Therefore, I managed to reach further down to hear without having the ground beneath me make noise.

"I don't give a fuck how we gotta do it, I'm in" I heard Damien speak, sounding pretty mad.

He and I really hadn't seen eye to eye since the kidnapping. For the first couple of months he wasn't even around, he avoided me because he felt embarrassed that he was sort of the cause to what happened to me and after that, well, it just felt so awkward. We would speak to each other as if we were ex best friends who still cared about one another but just were living different lives and it was honestly super weird considering how close he and I once were. I mean, there were improvements but it didn't help when I would go weeks without him even coming to see me.

"You a little bitch man, no offence, but Alex ain't gonna get scared of your ass, you too white" I heard Khalil's voice speak.

Alex? What did Damien have to do with him?

"Your leader is white, bitch" Damien replied probably referring to Jason. I couldn't help but laugh, holding it in however so that my cover was not blown. "No he ain't" Almost all of the boys said before laughing which made me laugh too, not as loud as them however.

"If Damien is gonna deal with Alex first hand, we gotta be prepared for what Alex has planned." Jason spoke.

Oh hell no. Damien was going to be dealing with Alex? Alone? What?! How could that ever be seen as a good idea, especially by Jason?

"Why you think Alex got anything planned? He ain't got no brain" Za began.

True.

"He's my brother, he ain't ever gonna be caught off guard"

I felt like the conversation I was hearing was just one big miscommunication, I didn't hear it all so maybe it wasn't as it seemed right? But the more I thought about it, the more it didn't make sense. Jason surely could not trust Damien enough to handle Alex, someone who was so sneaky and so cold hearted. My brother was tough and all but he didn't make the best decisions, and I wasn't going to let him get hurt either.

I quietly made my way out of the basement- the few steps that I was on really. I quietly closed the door behind me and made my way away from the basement but just as I thought I was in the clear, my name was called.

I paused in my tracks, sighing as I knew Jason was now behind me, probably fully aware that I was eavesdropping.

I turned around to face him, putting a awkward smile on my face to cover the actual dying need of blurting out what I had on my mind.

"Good morning" I said.

"You were listening, weren't you?" He replied making me sigh instantly. "Only the part where you were approving of my brother dealing with yours" I told him.

"I know what I'm doing Sav, you know that" He continued, I kind of knew he was going to say that. "You always say that Jase, and, most of the time I believe you but..." I trailed off as I looked away, "I'm not so sure about this" I ended.

"You don't know how this works princess, this is why I avoid you being a part of any of this"

"You always say that too! I don't get myself involved in anything but this involves me if it involves my brother, okay? He doesn't even know Alex and you're letting him potentially be in danger" I argued back, losing my temper.

"I'm not going to put him in danger Savanna. What are you saying? He is fucking annoying but I got his back and he knows that" I didn't know what to say because anything I did say would just result in him trying to justify this even more.

"What's going on?" Damien appeared from behind Jason, confusion to his face.

"I'm sure you won't care" I replied, folding my arms. "Oh, attitude" He said, amusement in his voice making me roll my eyes. "You won't be laughing when I tell mom you're acting like an idiot again." I said turning around and walking away.

"Savanna, why you buggin? You know your brother a bad ass" I rolled my eyes as he followed me to the kitchen where I turned around and gave him a look of literal disgust.

"No you're not. And that's the problem, you think you can handle things like this but you can't. You don't need to involve yourself in something you have no business in" I answered, he thought it was a joke but in reality I was telling the truth.

"It's my business because it involves somebody fucking with you right? Jason got this under control, I know what I gotta do and you don't have to worry bout nothin" I didn't even know what to say to him because it was no use, he didn't know how to listen or understand until it was too late so I left it.

"Got it" I replied simply before I sat down on the stool next to the island, picking up my phone to show him I no longer wanted to talk to him.

"She ain't listening" He muttered making me look up to see Jason now joining us, great, now both of them were going to try and convince me of why I was being crazy.

"Savanna, do you have a problem with Damien being a part of this?" He asked as he approached me.

"Of course I do Jason, what I don't understand is how you don't have a problem with it" I replied turning to look up at him. "Because this is going to work, that's why" See, told you I was going to look like the crazy one who had no clue what was going on.

"Alex ain't even gonna know I'm a part of this, that's why we got the advantage"

I turned to look at Damien, feeling angrier by the second "Damien, you haven't spoken to me properly in months, you feel guilty about what happened to me but instead of talking to me you have avoided it. And now you wanna play make believe? You don't even know Alex and you want to fight him?" I continued.

"Sav you gotta understand-" I was quick to cut Jason off as he took my hand in his, "No Jason," I paused stepping off the stool, "You know what could happen to him, you know yourself he isn't as good at this as you guys. There is nothing else you could possibly do instead of using Damien?" I asked, looking at Jason.

Jason sighed, slowly nodding, "I understand, okay? You ain't gotta worry, we're doing this without him" He finally said.

"What the fuck man? Why are you-" Damien spoke but was quickly cut off by Jason, "Shut the fuck up Damien, you're out" He told him and instantly you could see how angry Damien was getting. "Are you happy now Sav?" And with that, he left the kitchen.

I turned to look at Jason who now turned to face me, "Thank you" I said as he wrapped his arms around my waist, his eyes looking in to mine.

"I got you"
