You may be wondering the real story behind my relationship with Jason. The truth was, it wasn't a story to tell with happiness.
My brother, Damien, met Jason a very long time ago. He was new to 'this' life I guess and he did everything behind our backs. He made horrible decisions and chose to keep secrets from not only me but our oldest sister too. He made friends with a group of boys who were slightly older than him and we knew something was going on when he began to disappear at weird times and sometimes wouldn't return for days. But he would always text our sister, Sofia, that he was out and wouldn't be home for a while and not to worry about him. The good thing was he never lost respect for her and actually still to this day was scared off her.
I mean, she was a mom now, who wouldn't be scared of her.
Damien is now 21 years old, a year younger.
And he was the reason why Jason and I met.
When Damien joined his group of friends, it ran steady for a few years up until they began taking action against other people. The proper term for it is 'gangs' but I prefer not to throw that word around because it wasn't normal in my own world, just Jason's. Long story short, Jason for some reason felt bad for Damien who clearly had no idea what he was doing- he put not only himself in danger, but his family too.
The wrong people found out about us, and that only meant one thing.
Leverage.
That's where Jason came in to my life.
Long story short, Jason got rid of the bad guys and in return, he met me. And that is when I unexpectedly fell for Jason McCann.
My sister, Sofia, was 23 years old and she was engaged and also had a baby girl, my niece Ari. And quite frankly, she is probably the only reason why Damien came back to earth with a reality check because when my sister fell pregnant he knew he could not risk anything else.
And let me not get started on how good Jason was with Ari. You think he couldn't get any cuter and then he picks up a baby and instantly you melt to the ground. Something about a bad boy becoming soft for an infant I guess.
And not to mention Ari absolutely adored him. She literally looked at him with love in her eyes and honestly, she could steal him from me and it would be as easy as that.
My mom knew about Jason, I mean, she had to since I was living with him and especially after all of the things that happened with Damien, she kind of was used to it. Of course, she didn't know the ins and outs of Jason's 'crime' life because I'm sure if she knew everything, she'd definitely be terrified for my safety BUT, after seeing how he helped Damien- maturely night I add, my mom really didn't see Jason as being much of a threat, more of a hero, weirdly.
Besides, my family knew all how much I adored Jason and they definitely knew how well Jason treated me- as if I was a piece of treasure he needed to keep safe forever.
I'm sure my mom even crushed on Jason at one point.
I heard Jason called me from his office so I walked out of our bedroom and down the hall to see him sat in his office chair with his phone to his ear. I walked up to him as he extended his arm out for me to come and sit in his lap and so I did, waiting for him to end his call which looked serious, as per usual.
I couldn't help but smile at how cute he looked, serious and all and once he noticed me smiling at him, he looked at me with a look to say 'you look crazy' making me grin, kissing his cheek over and over.
He ended the call and placed his phone on the desk ahead of him.
"You called me here to have me sit and wait you to hang up the phone?" I asked with raised brows, obviously joking.
"Where is this attitude coming from, huh?" He asked as he slipped his hand in between my thighs.
"I called you here to tell you I am gonna drop you to your moms house for tonight, I have some people coming over" As soon as the words left his mouth my smile dropped.
"Why can't I just stay here? You won't even notice-" I was cut off, "You know I don't like having you here when I have people from my work here, this is about you sweetheart" He continued but he knew I wasn't happy.
"Can't you do this at your office?" I asked referring to his own office building which I'm sure had room for whoever was coming since it was so big and tall.
"Savanna" he paused "It's okay..." I ended for him.
This was all standard procedure. Jason didn't want me around the people he worked with unless it was absolutely necessary. But never in our home. The people he invited over were from his gang or just not nice people and we learnt from an unfortunate experience that it wasn't best me staying in the same place they were in. One of Jason's workers got very drunk and wondered in to our bedroom whilst I was sleeping, it ended horribly when Jason found him wondering around the room and I had never seen him since. After that, Jason took precautions.
"You'll pick me up tomorrow, right?" I asked.
"I promise princess" he answered.
Jason placed his hand at the back of my neck pushing my face closer to his to conceal the gap between us. Our lips moved in a slow but passionate sync as his hands roamed my bare legs sending shivers down my spine.
As I placed my hand on Jason's chest, the annoying sound of his phone began ringing which made us pull away. I secretly rolled my eyes and wanted to throw his phone out of the window but instead, I picked it up and looked at the caller ID.
"Tell Sam I hate him" I said, reading the name on the phone even though I didn't know him, I just used his name to express my annoyance.
He chuckled, "I'm sorry baby, go get dressed, we'll leave once I've finished up here" he told me and with a final kiss to my forehead I jumped off of his lap and walked away hearing him answer the call.
Sometimes I wished I could just freeze time and have Jason to myself but since things have been a little rough in Jason's work life, I couldn't do that. I just kind of supported and waited it out because I knew it wasn't his fault.
I just missed having him all to myself even though he tries his hardest to spend all of his time with me.
