I was pacing. I was doing that thing where I overthought every single thing, enough to make me want to pull my hair out. I just couldn't sit down for a minute without know what was going on with Jason. Typically, I never knew of any kind of attacks that Jason may be involved in because he kept that professional and well, away from me. Now, I was fully aware that he was pretty much out on a mission to kill his brother who definitely was not going down without a fight and I didn't know what to do with myself.
And on top of that, I had just received an awfully disturbing phone call from my older sister Sofia where she said she had something to tell me but wanted me to wait for her to arrive to my house. So as soon as I heard the buzzer, I knew she was here. I raced downstairs and pressed the button to make the gates open so that she could drive in to the driveway. I opened the main entrance doors and waited for her to get out of her card and as soon as she did, my heart began to race like crazy for some reason.
"Hey" She said as she approached me, locking her car along the way.
I stepped to the side to let her in before shutting the door behind me. "Well? Tell me!" I was growing more and more impatient.
"Aren't you going to invite me in properly? Crazy ass" She commented making me sigh taking her hand and pulling her along with me to the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of water before sliding it over to her on the counter.
"Now tell me"
She glanced at me, pursing her lips as she began to speak, "Damien told me earlier that he was going to be helping Jason deal with Alex, this was before I even knew that you had told Jason not to let him get involved and so that's why I agreed to it... he isn't answering my calls and I'm really concerned if something has gone wrong because he told me he was going to call when it was all over and done with" as children, Damien and I always relied on Sofia to help us during a problem and mine were normally small teenage girl issues but Damiens were always the extreme. Damien knew no matter what, Sofia would be there to clean up his mess and that is probably why he told Sofia about his plan because he needed somebody on his side, somebody who would agree with his actions and that somebody was not me so he went to her.
And this is the reason why I said no in the first place.
"What do you mean he hasn't called?"
"Mom was getting suspicious and told me to keep an eye on him, that meant I had to keep in contact with him to reassure mom that he was okay. I told him the only way he could do this is if he was clever about it and let me pick him up after everything was done, so that mom would see he was being responsible and hanging with me," she paused, out of breath.
"So... where did he say pick him up from?" I asked, feeling even more tense than I did before.
"He told me he'd be at Jason's warehouse, it's been an hour and he still hasn't called me... now I don't know where it is but-" I was quick to cut her off, "I do, come on" I wasn't thinking about anything other than making sure my brother was okay, I had a horrible gut feeling, as if something was really wrong... unlike all of the other times, I could not stay out of this one. I was done feeling helpless, like I was just a piece in Jason's life. I needed to do this for not only Damien but for myself.
We got in her car and she was quick to drive away, following my directions, we arrived there in no time. The car park was dark, much like the warehouse itself which I always thought was the worst place on earth because of how grim it looked outside and in. Jason never brought me here, only when it was absolutely necessary like he was picking up a few things on the way home. As we got out, I noticed Jason's car parked at the entrance in his usual spot along with Damiens which recognised his licence plate from.
