| Savanna |
As I waited patiently in the seated area outside of Jason's office, the elevator doors opened and the loud voices made me look up to see Jason's friends, Za and Brandon who walked out. Jason had very few people who he trusted being around me and those were his actual friends, they had been with him since he was young and I knew he trusted them with everything. I also knew why he loved them so much, it was because besides the criminal side, they weren't bad people. They didn't do things for the fun of it, they treated me with respect which was uncommon for other people in Jason's life however, they were genuinely kind.
They noticed me sat and looked at one another as this was very uncommon. Jason had me with him everywhere he went when it came to his office or warehouse, it just wasn't a place I'd like to wonder off to on my own and he knew that and I'm sure he didn't want that either so when Za and Brandon saw me out here alone, they automatically looked at the blurred walls which showed figures and that was all.
They looked at one another before looking at me.
"Heyyy Sav" Brandon said with cheer although, I could tell he was a little confused as to what he was supposed to do.
"Hi guys" I smiled, it was forced but it was a smile regardless.
They came over to me before sitting down on the couch opposite me, "You good out here?" He asked.
I nodded, "He's with somebody... a man called Marco with-" They were quick to cut me off, "Chris" they both said.
So they all knew the terrified man in Jason's office right now, apart from me.
"You been at college? How's it going? You got any annoying teachers?" Za asked, changing the subject. Za always made the funniest jokes because he just said the strangest of things but right now, even he was struggling to say much.
"Will you please tell me what happened downstairs? To the door? Or even who this man is?" I asked, referring to Chris. I didn't know if it was even going to work but I really hoped they would at least tell me something because trust me, it was so horrible sitting here and being unaware of everything.
They looked at one another again before looking at me.
"We can't tell you about Chris, that's not our place and I'm sure Jason keeps you out of these things because they aren't for you, you're too kind for that," Brandon paused, "But the doors, somebody broke them last night and we don't know who did it because the camera were broken in to and the footage was wiped" He ended.
I frowned, confusion all over my face because I had no idea how this could happen. It was an 18 floored building, it was all glass, it had attention on it pretty much 24 hours of the day and on top of that, everybody knew it was Jason's. Why would anyone want to do that?
But then the thought came to my mind, and I couldn't help but wonder, what if?
"Was there.. was there maybe a little blood on the glass? Anything that could suggest somebody did this without a weapon?" I questioned.
"We ain't know that much about it but some of the boys who be working on this typa shit say there was no professional weapon, maybe just a rock or some pussy shit, something about the way the glass was shattered?" Za explained, in the best way he could.
Cole? Cole.
All of a sudden, the sound of a loud bang followed by 2 more shots were heard from Jason's office and immediately, my body went in to complete shock seeing the little droplets of blood appear on the glass door.
My mouth parted and tears brimmed my eyes at the sound, feeling my hands shake as we all stood up.
Anybody would think, Shutup, you should be used to this by now. But no, Jason kept me out of this world because I couldn't handle it. This was his world and I just happened to be with him, that didn't mean I had to agree with it or take part in it. I loved Jason, no matter what, but this side to him I always wished didn't exist but because I loved him, I had to love him for all of his sides. However, when it came to physical things, I was never there for it. The most I see is when Jason has a problem with somebody in public, whether that's because they've looked at me/ made a comment about me or just plain annoyed him, that was the only physical part I saw.
Not the blood, not the murder.
Although, I knew it happened, I knew it was part of his life, I just didn't want to see it. I expected it, but I wasn't ready for it, especially not now when we were arguing, we hadn't spoke properly about everything and I wasn't even with him because he was still inside.
It wasn't the best of situations.
"Yo I'm hella sorry Sav, don't be scared" Brandon said, trying to comfort me.
A couple of seconds later, the door opened and Jason appeared. He shut the door almost immediately behind him before he turned to the guard, Dave, whispering something in his ear before turning to us.
His eyes darted straight to me, he knew what he had done and he knew I knew too. He looked at the boys and they exchanged a nod before they both walked over to him and opened his office door before disappearing inside along with Dave.
Probably to clean up the mess.
The poor man.
Jason approached me, taking my hand in to his before he pulled me along with him. "Make sure nobody comes up here." He sternly said to the woman at the desk who looked equally as shocked. She hurriedly nodded before picking up the phone and dialling away.
"Why did you-" I was cut off as soon as I even went to speak as the elevator doors opened and we walked out together. "Drop it savanna, Im not about to talk about this shit with you and you know that" He instantly replied as he literally pulled me along with him.
I couldn't even speak, he was so angry and it made me so upset because things were just going so horribly between us and nothing was helping.
Jason opened the car door for me and I sat in without saying a word before he came over to his own side and sped away. We sat in silence, but I knew how angry he was because his knuckles were white as he clenched the wheel.
This wasn't going to end well.
