I followed the bright yellow circled light with my eyes as instructed by the doctor who sat on a chair in front of me. The cuff around my arm inflated, checking my blood pressure as he put the torch down and took my thumb where he pressed against it, watching it.

"I'm checking your capillary refill time, it helps me to be sure that your blood is flowing right" He explained as he could see I was looking at what he was doing.

He looked down at the blood pressure machine which sat on the table before he looked at me, "Are you feeling any nausea, Miss Savanna?" He asked.

I shook my head a no.

He went ahead and checked my temperature and once it beeped, he looked at me and back at Jason.

"Her body temperature is at 95 Fahrenheit which is too low for what it should be. Her blood pressure is also low which could indicate a problem with her circulation and that might be because of her abdominal injury... I wouldn't suggest you waiting for your doctor to arrive tomorrow"

I could see panic in Jason's face which only made my heart race more, it was like it was sitting in the pit of my stomach as he spoke.

"She may have hyperthermia" He said standing up.

I don't know what happened, one minute I was standing and the next, my brain shut down and I fell to the ground with the thud.

And that was it, I was out.

-

I heard murmuring around me, I wasn't sure where I was but my eyes felt sore and it genuinely hurt just to open them. I felt groggy, as if somebody was sitting on me and I had just ran a marathon, I had no energy.

"Baby" I heard the voice of Jason next to me, I felt his hand on top of mine as his other hand rested on my cheek. I slowly opened my eyes, looking at him. "Jason?" Although, I thought I was trying my hardest to speak, my voice was in a whisper.

"Hi, sweetheart, I'm here" He spoke as i opened my eyes fully. I looked around, I was in a hospital room. The room was all white but bigger than I expected. I raised my hand seeing a cannula in the back of my hand, I was sure it was called that from my bio classes- it was that needle that stuck in the back of your hand giving you medication through an IV.

"Don't worry about that... how are you feeling?" He asked as he took my hand and pushed it down, covering it with his warm hand.

"I feel... ti-tired" I answered, groggily as I briefly closed my eyes before reopening them.

"What happened?" I asked looking in to his eyes.

He fell silent as he caressed the back of my hand, avoiding the needle in my skin of course. "You fainted... but you're in hospital now and we'll be back home soon" He reassured.

Home. I longed for it.

I felt him press his lips against my forehead as the door opened with a knock. "Ah, our patient is awake" I heard a woman walk in who I assumed was the doctor.

"Hello Mrs McCann, I'm glad to see you awake, do you feel any better?" Okay first of all, Mrs McCann? Did I get married to Jason and I didn't have any memory of it or was I being crazy? And second of all, she had the same accent, the same accent the men did at that horrible place I was in.

"I'm okay" I spoke, my voice still feeling sore.

"Good, you are very lucky. Your hyperthermia was controllable with antibiotics which is why you have a that awful thing in your hand... but I do have a few questions if that's okay with you?" She asked, turning to Jason.
