thirteen: dinner with a show

After the little show and tell, Aden brought me up to my room. The colors are perfect, the feel is wonderful, and on top of it, it has its own bathroom. Lost in the moment, I look over at the mirror behind the room door and look at myself, gasping.

My once beautiful curly hair is a mess from laying in a hospital bed for a day and my skin is dry and has dirt from the dried mud that never got wiped off. Today has been so eventful that I almost forgot about being attacked by that large wolf– I mean werewolf. I turn away from the mirror, not being able to stand the look of myself.

The toll of almost being raped a week ago and almost being eaten alive two days ago finally got to me. Flashes of the memory of the horrible guy, ripping my clothes, licking my face, touching me pass through my head, along with images of the sick animal clawing at my arms and legs, playing with me like I'm a toy. I take in a deep breath of air before I start to sob. I'm so dirty. My breaths become shallow and I suddenly can't breathe. I'm crying harder and faster than I can take in breaths, I'm having a panic attack.

My vision blurs and I cry harder, trying to forget the man, how his hands felt on my body, the look on his face; trying to forget the scary wolf, trying to rip me to pieces. I hear someone come in and light steps run over to me, but I couldn't focus on that now. "Hey, hey, Luna, what's wrong?" A girl calls.

"He-he touched me, I need his feel off. I-I almost died, p-please help-p. I need it off, these clothes. Take it off," I yell as I try to pull off my clothes.

"I know, I know. He's a bad man but you're safe. I promise. I know, just breathe. Deep breaths, Luna, deep breaths. You're safe, he's not here," she instructs. I try to take deep breaths, but my body doesn't let me. I cry harder and try to calm down, my body shaking as I exhale. After a while, I can start to breathe better and some of the tears have stopped. "It's okay, Luna," she reassures.

I finally look up to see a girl, not much older than me, with beautiful ginger hair and kind green eyes. "Thanks," I whisper not trusting my voice to be any louder.

"Anything for you, Luna," she smiles. My energy falls just a bit, she's only nice because she thinks I'm her luna.

"Yeah," I whisper sadly.

Seeing my face fall, the girl quickly stands up and reassures me. "I know what you're thinking, I was passing by when I heard you start to scream and cry. I would have done it for anyone. I promise," she nods.

"My name is Charlotte, but you can call me Lottie, so there's no need to call me Luna," I sigh. "I understand why you are, but I just met Aden, I don't even know him that well."

"I get it, but once you get to know him, he's great. He's like a brother to me. I'm one of this best friend's mates. Daniel and I actually hated each other, but when we came of age, we couldn't get enough," she rambled happily. I nodded and just sat on the bed quietly. "Oh my goddess," she exclaimed. "I'm so rude! I didn't even introduce myself. My name is Alice, I'm the Gamma's mate."

"Nice to meet you, Alice. If you don't mind, I'd like to take a shower," I exhaled.

"Oh goddess, yes, no problem. Sorry for intruding," she quickly said. Before I could even tell her she wasn't, she was out the door.

I decided it was best for me to just get out of these clothes and take a shower. Once I entered the bathroom, I was amazed. The bathroom had a shower cubical and a tub, along with the normal sink and toilet. I ran my hands over the marble sink counter and accidentally caught sight of myself. There was a bruise near my temple that seemed to extend into my hair and small scratches on my cheeks from nails. Although Aden healed my wound, I still had bruises up and down my arms from the claws.
