Lexi's POV
I held my cheek, my eyes welling up with tears, the house was quiet except for Carter's heavy breathing.
"Lexi, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean-" I cut him off with a shake of my head.
"Okay, I understand you want to be left alone, Don't come over to apologize and don't expect me over again, you can search for Phoebe on your own" I said quietly, my tears fell down my face, my cheek stung.
"Lexi-" I didn't listen and turned around to leave.
"Auntie!" Chris said, I opened the door and stepped out dejectedly.
"Aunt Lexi Wait!" Chris said putting his hand on my shoulder to stop me, he turned me around.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his blue hair, which was fading to blonde, was hanging in front of his eyes, I pushed it out of the way.
"I'm fine Chris, don't worry" I smiled pushing his arms away and then walking all the way back home, I saw the Hood's car parked in their drive way and walked past it sadly, I was scared, Carter was furious and he couldn't control himself but what if it stayed that way? I was wrong, he hadn't changed.
I opened the front door to see Gus and Isaac playing a video game while Matt was on his phone, I went over to him and hugged him, burying my face in his shirt.
"Hey Lex, I was just about to text you, you okay?" He asked, I pulled away from him.
"Can we talk?" I asked him and he nodded.
"Yeah, let's go upstairs" he said leading me upstairs.
"What happened?" He asked quietly.
"Carter" was all I said and he engulfed me in a hug.
"Whatever he did, don't take it personally" he whispered to me.
"Phoebe ran away, and he's angry, I tried to reason with him, he won't listen" I said.
"Carter's just trying to get through this okay?" He said calmly.
"He hasn't changed, Matt he-he hit me" his eyes widened.
"Carter did what?!" He yelled.
"Shh Matt, don't" I shook my head.
"How do you expect me to be calm? He hurt you" he touched my face gently.
"I'm okay, it just hurts Matt" I said and he wiped away my tears.
"What hurts?" He asked.
"It hurts me emotionally" I said and he held me close.
"I'm here okay? You don't have to worry about Carter, I'll make sure he never hurts you, I'll be your knight in shining armour" he kissed my forehead.
Gus's POV
"Yeah, Sorry I told Thomas, I forgot, did I worry him?" I asked Alexis, my phone held up to my ear with my shoulder because I was playing a video game with Isaac.
"Yeah, a bit but don't worry, Sydney's making him feel better" I could just imagine her rolling her eyes.
"You wanna come over?" I asked her.
"Can I?" She asked.
"Yeah sure Lexi" I said.
"I'm just gonna ask- DAD! CAN I GO TO THE ESPINOSA'S?" She yelled.
"Sure!" I heard Uncle Cal say faintly.
"I'll be there in a minute, love you" she said.
"You too" I said and she hung up.
