Light And Dark: A Musical

Act 2; Scene 4

(Patton, Logan, and Rose are in the castle. Logan is on a large bookshelf, sitting on top. Rose is standing next to Patton.)

Rose: Logan are you sure about this...?

Logan: We need to test your abilities, Rose. We need to see how far your power can go.

Patton: To be fair Rose, it seems when you're angry your power is a lot stronger than usual. Like when we first saw Janus's group a couple of months ago and they started attacking us. Later that week though when you tried moving even a couple of books and you weren't feeling any negative emotions, the books barely moved.

Logan: Maybe your emotions have a lot bigger part to deal with this than we thought.

Rose: Okay, let's see.

(Logan grabs his notebook from his lap and the pencil from behind his ear.)

Rose: Here goes nothing.

(Rose holds her hands out and the entire bookshelf, and Logan, falls over. Rose and Patton run up to Logan and help him stand up.)

Patton: Logan, are you okay?

Logan: Yes I am okay. Rose, it seems you are getting stronger. Now, let's try without your necklace.

(Rose nods slowly. Logan, Patton, and Rose put the shelf back. Logan climbs back onto the top and starts writing in his notebook again.)

Rose: Hey Patt, can you hold this? Don't you dare try anything.

(Patton laughs. Rose hands Patton the necklace. She holds out her hands and tries to push over the bookshelf. Nothing happens.)

Logan: So that answers our question.

(Logan hops down from the shelf. Patton gives Rose back the necklace and she puts it back on.)

Patton: Let's just hope you don't lose the necklace.

(The lights fade out)
