(The lights fade up, and we see Virgil and Rose standing alone on a stage together. Rose is running around Virgil, and she gives him a hug while laughing, the music starts.)
Rose: Virgil?
Virgil: Yes?
Rose: You saved me!
Virgil: I did...now what do I do?
Rose: We go back home and stop this mess.
Let's go, let's go right now!
(Rose jumps out of Virgil's arms, and starts to run off-stage. Then Virgil softly grabs her wrist.)
Virgil: Wait Rose...how?
(Rose puts her hand down, and laughs softly.)
Rose: We'll walk, we both know the way!
We'll just walk through the storm.
Virgil: It's a long road, it's a long walk
Back into the cold and dark!
Are you sure you want to go
(Rose puts her hand on Virgil's cheek softly)
Rose: Take me home...
(Virgil turns around and faces the opposite direction of Rose. Rose stands there staring at him, softly shaking her head.)
Virgil: I can't always save you
I can't take away your pain
I don't have a ring like that
Whatever promises he made
I can't promise you safety all the time
I can't promise you an easy life
But I'll walk beside you, love
Anyway the wind blows
(Rose walks over to Virgil and puts her hand on his shoulder, and turns him around. He is shaking and has tears streaming down his face. Rose starts to get choked up too.)
Rose: I don't need you to always save me
I don't want you to take the pain
I don't need a ring like this
(Rose grabs the wedding ring, and throws it to the side)
Rose: Just need a steady hand to hold
Don't promise me safety all the time
Don't promise me an easy life
Just walk beside me, love
Anyway the wind blows
Virgil: What about him?
Rose: He'll let us go!
If not, I'll free us
(Rose lifts a plane behind Virgil. He smiles and shakes his head, but then gets nervous again.)
Virgil: What about the war?
Rose: We can fight back!
Protect the people, and they'll have faith.
Both: I don't know where this road will end
But I'll walk it with you, hand in hand
I can't promise you safety all the time
Can't promise you an easy life
But I'll walk beside you, love
Anyway the wind blows
(Virgil steps closer and slowly takes Rose's hand.)
Virgil: Do you let me walk with you?
Rose: I do
Virgil: I do
Both: I do
(Rose puts her hand on his cheek again.)
Rose: And keep on walking, come what will?
Virgil: I will
Rose: I will
Both: We will
(The two lean in and kiss, then we hear a cough after a few seconds, and the rest of the Sander's brothers walks in.)
