Act 1; Scene 8: I Won't Say I'm In Love: Thomas Sanders (Mashup)

(Rose, Roman, Thomas, Logan, Virgil, and Patton are all out on a walk in the park.)

Rose: Why'd you guys take me out here?

Virgil: We could tell you were stressed so we came up with the idea to take you out here.

Patton: More like Virgil came up with it.

Virgil: What, no you guys...ok fine I came up with it.

Rose: Aw that's so sweet Virgil!

(She gives him a peck on the cheek, making him flustered)

Roman: Aw, cat got your tongue?

Virgil: No...shut up.

Thomas: Aw lovebirds!

Logan: But they're not birds. If they were birds they'd have feathers-

Patton: Logan...shut up.

Rose: Guys stop! We're just friends!

Virgil: Exactly! Speaking of that, Rose I wanted to give you a (giving his brothers a dirty look) gift from a friend.

(Virgil pulls out a purple flower from his pocket and hands it to Rose. Rose holds the top of the stem, and Virgil holds the bottom of the stem)

Virgil: I found this flower yesterday, and thought of you. Anytime you are feeling upset, scared, or just need comfort, give me this flower. I'll do the same for you.

Rose: Virgil, that's...that's so nice! Thank you!

Virgil: Uh...yeah no problem. Look I better go, I'll see you guys later!

Thomas: Bye Virge!

(Virgil leaves waving at everyone, leaving the rest of the group by a large tree)

Roman: You two are so, painfully, in love.

Patton: You guys would be so cute! The perfect queen and king!

Rose: Guys! I don't love him...not like that! We're just friends.

Logan: That's what you said about Janus too...

Thomas: Logan! Shut up!

Patton: I mean...he's not lying.

Rose: Guys! What do I need to say to convince you? We're just friends!

Roman: Rose...

*start music here*

Rose: If there's a prize for rotten judgment I guess I've already won that
All those days chasing down a daydream
That's ancient history; been there, done that

Sanders: Who do you think you're kiddin'?
He's the earth and heaven to ya
Try to keep it hidden
Honey, we can see right through ya

(Rose drops the flower, and starts pacing back and forth)

Rose: Oh no

Sanders: Girl, you can't conceal it
We know how you feel
And who you're thinking of

Rose: Oh no chance, no way

Patton: Let it go, let it go

Rose: I won't say it, no, no

Patton: Can't hold it back anymore

Thomas: You swoon, you sigh
Why deny it? Uh-oh

Rose: It's too cliché
I won't say I'm in love

(We see Janus walk onstage with a young girl, dancing. After a second they leave hand in hand)

Rose: I thought my heart had learned its lesson
It feels so good when you start out

(Roman walks up to Rose and puts his hand on her shoulder)

Roman: You'll be there someday

Rose: My head is screaming "Get a grip, girl
Unless you're dying to cry your heart out

Thomas, Logan, Patton: "You keep on denying
Who you are and how you're feeling

(Rose pushes Roman back, pacing back and forth again)

Roman: I'll make a woman out of you

Thomas, Logan, Patton: Baby, we're not buying
Hon, we saw you hit the ceiling

Rose: Oh, no

Patton: Face it like a grown-up
When you gonna own up
That you got, got, got it bad?

Rose: Oh no chance, no way

Logan: I'm wishing

Rose: I won't say it, no, no

Roman: Give up, give in

Thomas: So this is love

(Rose picks up the flower and gives a small grin)

Roman: Check the grin; you're in love

(Roman starts poking Rose and teasing her)

Rose: This scene won't play
I won't say I'm in love

(Rose starts shoving Roman away)

Roman, Patton, Thomas: You're doin' flips
Read our lips: "You're in love"

Rose: You're way off base, I won't say it
Get off my case, I won't say it

Logan: Almost there

Roman: Girl, don't be proud, it's okay
But if I know you, I know what you'll do

Patton: You loved him at once

Logan: There may be something there that wasn't there before

Thomas: Wish that I had

Patton: I know every mile

Thomas: A whole new world

Patton: Will be worth my while

Thomas: With new horizons to pursue

Patton and Rose: I will go most anywhere

Logan: I'll chase the many where there's time to spare

Patton and Rose: To feel

Thomas: Let him share this

Patton and Rose: Like I

Thomas: Whole new world

Roman: Maybe love is the reason why

Logan: For the first time ever we're seeing it eye to eye

Patton: Since you fell, there's just no telling how far you'll fall

(Rose sits down by the tree singing to herself, holding the flower)

Rose: Oh, at least out loud
I won't say I'm in

Patton, Logan: Lalalalalalala la la la la la

Thomas: My, oh my

Rose: Love

Roman: Ah, no oh

(The boys sit down next to Rose and she holds out the flower with her arm straight out. (like Orpheus in Wait For Me) The stage fades to black.)
