Act 2; Scene 11: Chant (Reprise)

Patton: Rose, we have to leave now.

Rose: Patton, I can't! I belong to Janus now.

Thomas: Rose please, you're the only one who can stop this war. 

Rose:  Exactly, I'll stop it by making Janus happy!

Logan: Do you really want to make the man that wiped all of our memories happy?

Rose: What are you talking about?

Virgil: They tried to tell you earlier, but then we started getting chased. Rose, Janus, or should I say Deceit,  was the one who wiped all of our memories. He's the one that helped the queen and king.

(All of a sudden Janus and his team walk onstage.)

Janus: Talking about me are you?

(Music starts here. Rose's necklace is glowing dark red. Thomas walks to the front of the stage away from everyone else. He is speaking to the audience. The workers on the castle hear this, and that's when everyone's memories start coming back. )

Thomas: Now everybody knows that Janus helped

Rose: Is it true?

Workers: Is it true?

Janus: What are you talking about?

Thomas: And the workers had heard what the queen was saying

(Rose turns around and looks at Janus right in his eyes.)

Rose: Is it true?

Workers: Is it true?

Charles: Janus, she knows!

Thomas: A million lies that hurt us all 

Rose: Is it true?

Workers: Is it true?

Thomas: Now are being released

Townsfolk: Low, keep your head, keep your head low

(Deceit's team, besides Remus who has his hands tied behind his back, are grabbing Rose. She is forcing things all around her to move away. Charles slaps her, making Rose snap out of it. She gets her hands tied behind her back and her feet. Roman and Virgil try to run to her, but Patton and Logan stop them.)

Townsfolk: Keep your head, keep your head low

Workers: Why do we turn away when our brother's

Townsfolk: Keep your head-

(Janus walks over to the Sanders. He grabs Virgil by the arm. Rose tries to stop him, but she gets kicked in the stomach by Jeff)

Janus: Well guys
Got to hand it to you
Guess you don't scare easy, do ya'?
Are you brave or stupid boy?
Doesn't matter which one
'Cus it seems your song made quite a strong impression on my wife
But it takes more than singing songs to keep a woman in your arms
Take it from a man who learned it hard
If you want to hold a woman, son

(Janus grabs a chain and walks over to Rose. He puts it around her neck and her wrists)

Janus: Hang a chain around her throat
Made of many carat gold
Shackle her from wrist to wrist
With sterling silver bracelets
Fill her pockets full of stones

Townsfolk: Ooohhh

Virgil: If I raise my voice-

Workers: If I raise my voice

Townsfolk: Keep your head low

(Rose starts to raise her head. Jeff forces it back down.)

Virgil: If I raise my head-

Rose: If I raise my head

Workers: If I raise my head

Townsfolk: Keep your head low

Virgil: Could I change my fate?

Rose: Could I change-

Workers: Could I change-

Remus: Could I change my fate?

Rose: If I raise my voice could I-

(Megan puts her hand over Rose's mouth)

All: Keep your head low!

Virgil and Rose: Could I change the way it is?

Workers: Why do we turn away instead of standing there with her

Workers: Why are we digging our own grave for a living

Remus and Rose: If we're free tell me why we can't even stand upright

Workers, Remus, and Rose: If we're free tell me when we can stand with our fellow men

(Janus grabs Virgil's shoulder.)

(Janus shakes Virgil. Janus then walks over to Rose and grabs her, forcing her to stand.)
