Their way to the library is filled with an awkward silence. SeokJin, being a man of few words he is, not knowing how to behave while being with people, shames to talk, full of anxieties and self-consciousness, sure that he'll make a fool out of himself. HoSeok on the other hand doesn't know what to talk about. He wants to know the quiet boy better, but he doesn't know how to approach him and not harm him unintentionally. So at the end none of them speaks and they walk in this silent to work on their project. Finally Jin gets enough of courage to speak, fighting with his fears and trying to start a conversation.
"Do you want to eat something before we reach the library?" He asks, while looking at the older boy, knowing that he almost always after school goes out with his friends to eat.
Don't get him wrong, he's not stalking him. He just sees Jung and the company when he walks around the downtown. Nothing more.
"Gladly. There is a small eating place, on the way there." As if by some magic, HoSeok immediately becomes more lively, seeing it as a chance to talk to the boy. "Do you like beef?"
"When I have a chance, I like to eat it." Admits the quiet boy, looking around for the said eating place, knowing they're near it. He walks this street for a long years now, he practically memorized when which store or any other place is by now.
"Then come on, let's eat something." HoSeok spurs him on, walking a little faster towards the glazed door of the bar.
SeokJin is right behind him, going inside of the place, getting hit by the warm of the heating and a smell of delicious meals. The boys, to whom deciding what to eat took a small while, took a seat at one of the room's corners. Their jackets and scarfs are putted on the free sits between them and they looses their uniform's ties a bit as well as rolling up their sleeves. And once again, an awkward silence, while Jin is nervously pulling his rolled up sleeve and Jung is looking around the room, thinking of any topic to talk about with the younger.
He already noticed that the boy is as quiet and as peaceful as at school. He's not looking like a person that hides his true extrovert and rebellious self under the cover of an ideal student. He seems to be just quiet and nice SeokJin, different than the description that everyone at school repeats.
A plate with warm food that is placed in front of him brings him back to reality. He looks at his companion who also has his food already. They wish for each other to enjoy their meals and begin to eat, without talking. That's how half of an hour passes and they resume their way to the library, finally getting there, from the entrance smelling the ink and paper of old volumes and new books placed in numerous shelves, that filled the most space in library's hall.
When they place their jackets on free chairs, next to where they're working, HoSeok doesn't even say anything and the younger goes in between the shelves, coming back after a short while, carrying few heavy tomes.
"I thought that could be useful." He explains, placing books on the table. "I looked through them, spending one of my afternoons here, they seem interesting. You know, psychology and all, I'm curious about it."
Jung only nods being impressed by the younger boy, who seems to be moving naturally between the collection of books, as if it is his second home, and that the boy feels so comfortable with the psychological elaborations, that seem so complicated to HoSeok. Moreover he just heard the longest sentence from SeokJin, that wasn't reading a homework in class. The younger seems a lot more relaxed in here than at school.
Indeed, the calm aura that comes from Kim, and him being more confident are very noticeable, especially when they start their work on the project, deciding what topics should they talk about, what should they include into their work, sharing with their tasks. HoSeok didn't know that they could spend so much time with the younger in so nice atmosphere, but in only proofs that his thoughts, that meeting people personally is better than through rumors.
It amazes him, when he noticed the hour, after they finished planning everything with the smallest details and deciding their responsibilities with the project, so he bids farewell to the younger, takes his things and goes to home. SeokJin decides to stay for a little longer in the library, celebrating a nice day, that he spent with someone for the first time, someone who's not judging him because of his family and treats him as just SeokJin, not an incarnation of his brother's worst attributes.
