When SeokJin came home that day after graduating, things were being carried out of the mansion. He wasn't surprised. Father told him they were moving to Deagu. Theoretically, the situation from the police station was under control, but Kim knew that the police in Seoul were watching him closer now. Moreover, he was opening a new branch there, so he would go there and back home quite often, comparing all of it moving appeared as the best option.
In addition, no one seemed to know them there, so he could do with his younger son whatever he wanted and no one would suspect anything. Perfect situation.
If he had to be honest, SeokJin was amazed that he was even allowed to attend university, but the price was even more strict rules that were set for him in the new mansion. Among all these rooms that were there, there was one "playroom" which became SeokJin's worst nightmare, when old Kim and his brother were enjoying their time, but sadly, it wasn't the only thing that awaited him for next year.
Food was given him in such small portions that he lost even more weight than ever, he heard constant insults, he was often put down, all of it was more severe than before.
He couldn't do anything about it, only slowly, secretly proceeding with his plan. Taking everything that came his way and preparing his way to escape. Until that big day finally came.
It was one of those peaceful days when his father had actually a good mood and SeokJin wanted to make use of it. After knocking to Kim's home office and hearing permission to go inside, he took a deep breath and decided to go for it.
Without saying anything he placed a pile of documents on the men's desk and calmly answered an annoyed question about what it was. His written resignation from any rights he had as "The Kim" and every other paper that had to be prepared with him stating he wanted nothing to do with his biological family. A document in which he ensured he would never want even a lost penny from them and a request to be disinherited by his father if all above wasn't enough for the businessman. Everything, every one of that documents was supposed to show that the men's child out of wedlock wanted nothing to do with them. SeokJin was ready to make those documents official right that instant. He didn't care, he just wanted to leave that place and go back to where was his happiness and the people who were waiting for him, to a place where was his purpose in life, where he could see good in people.
Negotiations didn't last long. Everything Jin prepared was to make him disappear from the family's history and was something that everyone was good with. True, they would lose their plaything but it was better than to have the bastard dishonor family's name. Because it was more important than his life.
So from that day, SeokJin began to look for a place and work in Seoul, that he could live there after the year at university ended. He made sure that he finished every issue he could have with the dean's office, with some difficulties he managed to get shifted to Seoul's University.
And finally, the happy day came, the day when he took his few belongings, hopped into a train, and traveled to the capital city. He had found a small apartment, totally enough for him as a lonely student who just needed a palace to sleep, eat and study. Also, he got a job, in a small restaurant that belonged to a small, kind family and where he could improve with his cookings like he always wanted, which was as important as getting enough money to pay bills and buy food. It was all he needed to be happy.
Well, almost. There still was still a matter of meeting with friends, but this also was quickly solved.
That's where SeokJin finished his story, looking at the six boys, waiting for the next questions. He knew they still had a lot of them. But he was also ready to finally answer all of them.
For the first time in his life, he wasn't forced to hide anything, he could talk about what he wanted and it felt so good.
He loved the feeling of being in control over his own life, even in such small aspects.
