it feels like my world just turned upside down

i pull myself off ethan and stare at everyone who just walked in

"i knew it!" madison squeals

leo looks proud but also shocked, joey on the other hand isn't even looking at me. he's looking at ethan, he's holding back. i can just tell how mad he is right now

"um, anyway. i came here to take jeremiah off your guys hand. thank you for taking care of him" leo says

"what? no!" i say

"what?" leo furrows his brows

"you're not taking jeremiah. i'm sorry but he is staying with me" i grab jeremiahs arm and pull him towards me

"yes i am he is my child" leo pulls him

i laugh, "your child?"

"don't do this here. not right now. your friend is here elena" leo looks at madison

madison looks back and forth between us, "yea i'll leave" she runs up the stairs and goes into her room

"you can't take him" i stand my ground

"we aren't playing elena. it's dangerous for him to stay here. it's better if he's with us"

he has a point. it is dangerous for him to be here with me, "but it won't be any better for him at the hotel? all you guys do is drink"

"he's only going to be with us for a week until lexi is out the hospital" he says

"why can't he just stay with me for another week?" i ask

"elena!" leo shouts

i sigh, we cant really say a lot because ethan is here and they don't trust him. ethan even looks scared right now

"i'm taking him" leo says taking jeremiah and walking out the front door

joey walks out with them and i look at ethan, "i'll be right back" i tell him

i walk out the loft and go after joey, i turn him around and he stares at me

"you can't be mad" i say

he shoves his hands in his pockets "really? it looked like you were really enjoying it. he was pulling you hair and you were biting down on his lip"

"well i have too joey. that's what everyone is telling me to do" i scoff

"i know but it's just..." he looks at me, "i didn't know you would go that intense. it's been a couple of hours since i last saw you and your already eating his face on the couch"

"i'm doing it for the kids, remember?" i sigh

"yea" he looks down, "for the kids"

he turns around and walks inside the car. jeremiah waves at me before leo drives off

i sigh and lean against madison's car with my arms crossed. i know how upset he is but i had too. it was so the kids and that's all that matters

people are going to get hurt through the process and i have to stop being a little baby about it

"elena"

i turn around and see ethan, "i should go"

"no" i quickly say

he furrows his brows at my response, i clear my throat, "i mean, you just came and i really need you to stay with me"

that was probably the most terrible excuse i've ever came up with in my entire life
