ethan glances at my phone and i shove it in my pocket, look at him elena. it's ethan, the man who took of your kids, he would never harm them

"who were you texting?" he smiles

"i-it- it was um, joey" i stutter and he furrows his brows

"is everything alright?" he ask

"yes everything is fine" i gulp, "the movie actually looks good so imma go watch it now"

i pass by ethan and sit down next to jeremiah. i pull him next to me and wrap my arms around him

"what's wrong?" jeremiah whispers to me

"nothing" i answer

"i hear your heart beating" he tells me

i take a deep breath and try to relax myself. ethan sits down on the other side of the couch and i stare at the tv

"ethan!" i laugh

"come on elena give me a hug!" he spreads his arms

sophia sits on the counter and claps her hands with cake batter all over her mouth

jay is jumping up and down looking at me waiting to hug ethan

"no" i giggle, "hug jay instead"

"fine" ethan picks up jay and jay starts screaming from excitement

sophia starts laughing and i start to wipe her face, "bad baby!"

she smiles and claps her hands again

i look at jay and ethan dying from laughter after they made a mess in the kitchen from the cake we were suppose to make

wipe cream is all over jays face and i sigh when i see sophia has cake batter in her hair, "you are a messy girl you know that?"

she nods and i kiss her cheek

"mom look what ethan did"

i look down at jay and he has a pile of sprinkles on his head, i look at ethan and he smiles at me

"he asked for it"

"i'm not cleaning this up" i tell him

ethan wraps his arms behind me and kisses my cheek, "you know i will baby"

"elle"

i look at mads and she furrows her brows, "are you okay?"

i notice everyone is staring at us, a tear falls down my cheek and i stand from the couch

i run up the stairs and go into my room. i take out the stupid map and look at the place ive circled

i take my phone out and am quick to call joey, please answer joey

the door opens and ethan is staring at me, "what's wrong?"

i shake my head and start crying, "i need my kids ethan. i- i cant do this, i need to find them right now! i- i"

"hey hey hey calm down" he shuts the door and sits down next to me pulling me in a hug

"i just want them ethan" i cry in his chest, "i'm such a terrible mother"

"no you're not. don't say that okay"

"i am! days just pass and they're suffering. i could've found them if i was with joey" i sob
