8:30pm

i don't bother to change my shoes when i arrive at the penthouse. my boots are just fine with my outfit

my phone starts ringing and i pick it up, "what?"

"change of plans, we're going to a ball" giovanni says

"a ball?" i furrow my brows

"yes, so go change before i arrive, you have 30 minutes"

"what do i even wear?" i stand from the couch and walk over to my room

"a dress, green"

"a green dress?" i almost laugh, "you have horrible fashion taste giovanni"

"gio" he corrects, "i'm wearing a dark green suit so you have to wear a green dress"

i open the closet and stare at the different clothes, "so we're twinning?"

"no time for jokes elena, wearing heels. throw those boots out as well"

i look down at my feet and pull my boots off, "fine, but i'm going to need more than 30 minutes to get ready if i'm going to a ball"

"i'll give you a extra ten, now bye" he ends the call

i throw the phone on the couch and hide my boots in the closet, they are the only comfortable pair of shoes i own. i skim through the different dresses hoping to find a green one like he asked and my eyes caught in immediately

i pull it out and stare at the green dress. it wasn't as bad as i thought, it's more of a dark green than light

i'm going to need to fix my hair and put on more makeup. this tom guy better appreciate me when he sees me

i quickly put the dress on and put on black heels, ones that actually fit me. i tie my hair in a low bun and clip it so it stands straight

i feel much better in a dress than some leather pants that stuck to my legs. i wipe off my lip gloss and apply some red lip stick to make it pop

i don't think i've gotten dressed up like this in a while. the last time i did was probably when ethan took me to a masquerade ball that completely failed

i stare at my phone and realize it's almost 9. i hear the elevator door ding making my heart race a bit

it's either giovanni or the doorman giving me a letter. i sit on my bed and fix the lace on my shoes. my room door opens and giovanni stares at me than at my dress

"see, you didn't need a extra ten minutes" he steps in and shuts the door behind him

"you're early" i tell him

"i didn't want to wait downstairs alone for 20 minutes" he walks over to my mirror and fixes his tie

his eyes catch my clothes on the floor, i didn't have enough time to put them away just yet. put when i noticed his eyes stare at my bra on the floor i quickly stand to my feet

"get out" i walk over to my clothes and pick them up, quickly grabbing the bra and hiding it behind me

"it's just a bra babe" he looks back at himself in the mirror, "i've seen plenty of those"

my cheeks start to flare in embarrassment and he notices. i throw my clothes in the laundry pin that went straight down to the laundry room

"i'm ready to go now" i speak

he stares at me through the mirror taking up what i'm wearing. the dress was beautiful and it looked amazing on me, but i wasn't okay with giovanni feeling the same way

i walk to the closet and grab myself a coat, throwing it over my shoulders to cover half my body, "let's make this quick"

he follows behind me as we leave the penthouse, the elevator ride was short and we are immediately seated in a limo

i sit next to him and stare out the window. miami was a beautiful city, nothing like i expected

the sound of a bottle popping grabs my attention making me turn my head towards him, he pours himself a drink in a cup

"want some?" he ask me

"no" i kindly reject

he puts the cup down and starts drinking from the bottle, i sigh and look back out the window

i just hope tonight will go by fast, i'm not in the mid to really talk to anyone. hopefully i get this flash drive by tom and quickly leave

except giovanni wants me to flirt my way into getting it, because apparently tom carries it everywhere and the only one i can get it is if i flirt with him

"thinking about tonight?" he ask

i breathe, "yea"

"don't worry, want a condom?"

"no, i'm not having sex with tom" i shake my head, "i'm only going to flirt with him"

"flirting with tom won't work, you're going to need to do more than just flirt babe" he puts the bottle down

the farthest i'll go with tom is a kiss, no way i'm going to go into bed with him

giovanni doesn't believe that i can get tom with just a kiss but he obviously doesn't know me and now i'm good with my words, just like him

maybe giovanni and i do have some things in common

"so tell me" he clears his throat, "how was it been working with me?"

i snicker, "not as bad as i thought. just wish you didn't use me to get things done"

"that's not true" he shakes his finger in the air

"yes it is, that's why you're asking me to be with tom. you could've asked any of the other girls that work for you but you chose me"

"that's because i want to see how you'll get your first task done. the other girls have already passed plus i am very impressed with how smart you are"

"i'm flattered by the compliment but you should know by now that you don't need to test me on anything. i get my way through everything" i grin at him

his hand goes to my thigh, "it seems like your testing me now. should i give you a harder task next time?"

"a harder task? nothing is hard, i can get everything done with no struggle"

he laughs, "that's why when i had you roped to a chair you couldn't get out"

i roll my eyes, "except that"

"i'm just playing with you darling" he lifts his hand from my thigh and fixes his tie, "tom is easy to please so you won't have any trouble"

"and what do i get in return when i get the flash drive?"

he says that whenever i do my task right i always get something in return, a day off or even some cash

and i'd love to have some cash right now, i can maybe send them to my kids anonymously

"a kiss"

my eyes widen, "what?"

he turns his head towards me

"i'm not kissing you giovanni"

"gio" he corrects for the third time, "and that's only if you want" he winks, "but i have 2 grand when you're done"

"so i just get a flash drive and later get 2 grand?" this sounds so much more fun then when i worked with joey

"yup, that easy"

i nod, i can get a flash drive, how hard can it be?
