"i feel much better" lexi tells me
i squeeze her hand, "that's really great lexi. i was so worried for you"
she nods, "hows joey? where's jeremiah?"
"joeys doing good, we made up and jeremiah is staying with me for now" i tell her
"you guys made up?" she furrows her brows at my response
"what?" i question her facial expression
"is he still drinking?" she whispers
"no, i don't think so. he's picking me up in a few minutes, we're going to talk about how we're going to find giovanni"
her eyes widen, "the sooner the better, but be safe elena. i've came across gabe so many times, he is crazy powerful. i cant imagine how powerful giovanni must be"
"i know" i sigh, "joey thinks ethan is on gabes side"
lexi gasp, "why would he think that"
"i-i don't know, ethans been so nice to me" i frown, "ethan would never go against us"
"but you know joeys always right at the end"
"no he isnt. he's not always right" i shake my head
she presses her lips together and looks at me. i pull my hand away from hers and take a deep breath, "he's not"
"okay fine" she shrugs her shoulders
"i have to get going, do you know when you'll be out the hospital so i can pick you up?" i ask her
"in a week" she smiles
i give her a light hug before walking out her room and down the hallway
joey:
i'm outside
i turn my phone off and ignore the people throwing up and coughing, i hate hospitals
i feel dirty whenever i'm in them, like somebodies spirit is watching over me
i leave them hospital and see joeys car parked. i walk over to it and get inside
"hey" he says as i sit
"hey" i smile
"how's lexi? does she hate me?"
"no, she's fine. she comes back home in a week" i answer
after a 20 minute car ride filled with a tension we arrived at the hotel just right next to the beach
couples holding hands, kids running around, dogs barking with the birds chirping
i keep my eyes on the girl sitting alone the bench with her phone in her hand. she's wearing shorts and her jacket looks very familiar
"elena" joey interrupts
i turn to look at him and he waits for me to leave the car. "oh yea" i say as i step out the car
i make eye contact with the girl and she gives me a small smile, i smile back at her and joey grabs my hand, "come on"
he pulls me inside the hotel and i yank my hand away, "you don't need to pull me now"
"i'm sorry ba-" he pauses, "it's because the streets are packed with people and some in disguise" he presses the elevator button and looks at me
i take a deep breath, "i still think it's better if i turn myself in"
"no elena! we are not having this talk again" he shuts me down
