"I'm Jo."
What the heck?
"What?"
He looks at me in confusion, and now I just realize how lightheaded I'm feeling.
Is it because I ran after him?
I guess not. I don't like to sweat, but I still exercise at least once a week. Then what?
Is it because my mind just imagined the whole worst-case scenario where he files a complaint which results in me getting fired?
Probably.
And now he's offering his name after shrugging the matter off with a sigh.
I definitely didn't hear whatever he said after he said the sentence 'file for a complaint'.
"Are you okay? You look a bit pale."
"I, uh... Yeah. I'm good."
No I'm not. You've scared me back there.
"Sorry for making you run after me like that."
"No, no, no! I'm the one who's sorry for letting my friend disturbed you like that. Thank you so much for not filing for a complaint."
The tiniest hint of a smile ghosts his lips, "Alright. I'll see you around..."
"Sasha."
"... Sasha." he completes his sentence before he slightly nods his head then leaves for the bus.
Just like that.
I can't believe he'd just accepted my apology and even introduced himself. I imagined him as the type of guy who'd wanted me to get on my knees before he accepts my apology.
Guess I've been jumping into conclusions far quicker than I can even do 30 push-ups in a minute.
I rub my temples, trying to calm myself down.
I don't have a clue about this guy. He's as predictable as the questions in my Math tests.
◐
"What the heck?" Rosa is sitting down on the floor, handing me the books from the boxes right next to her. "The guy just introduced himself after basically saying he can get you fired?"
I glance at Linda, and she doesn't even mind with Rosa coming in again today.
Well, she did offer to help after all.
"Look, all I care is I don't get fired from the job," I speak in a way quieter tone, quite worried if Linda can hear me. "So as long as he doesn't try anything funny-"
