Not elemental magics, but everyone is born with different and specific magic types, like someone could be born with fire based reinforcement mgic while another is born with fire based healing magic and so on. Each mage will have a weakness to a magic type based on the magic they're born with.
Different Types of Mages
Pure Mages: The basic and average kind of mage, the most common in the world.
Duo Mages: The rarest kind of mage, born with two types of magic instead of one.
Blackblood Mages: mages who share lineage or bloodlines with monsters, always born with a magic based around the creature they share blood with. Usually has some form of appearance trait due to the monster blood that flows through them.
Druid Mages: The second rarest kind of mage, they have their normal magic, plus the ability to turn into a runic creature.
Horned Mages: Hated by most, these mages are all born with horns, and possess demonic magics.
White Mages: Born with white hair and golden eyes, they all possess holy magics.
There are schools that specialize in training specific magics and mage types, and some schools that train all.
Maybe instead of one story I do six, one based around each type of mage.
