A parasitic virus infected the earth, mutating 70% of the population, and most creatures and plants, into horrible monsters. The 30% that survived now must fight for their survival. The 30% do possess the parasitic virus in their body, but through unknown causes it doesn't mutate them into monsters, some can even use it to fight. The remaining humans have split up into several factions, all with their own views and ways of things. Some of the factions have peace treaties and are allies, while others are at war.
