When you die a great deity that oversees all the worlds offer you two options, one; you can go to heave and two; you can be reincarnated into a different world. Everyone from our worldis offered these options when they die. The main character obviously chose to reincarnate into another world. The world that he reincarnated into would be based around hunting monsters. Each person is forged a weapon of their choosing, it gets stronger the more monsters you kill with it. These weapons are made out of special metal that absorbs the power of anything it kills.
