In this world mechs were all given AIs, but most were decommissioned and destroyed. The only people that have them are an oppressive government. This story would follow the journey of a group of rebels, all of which have obtained a mech, either through finding it and fixing it up, stealing it, or even being ex-military. Once a mech bonds with a pilot, it won't bond with a new one till that one is dead.
