Chapter 119: ↠FreeRange↞

__

Morning soon came, and it was strange that everything was so silent. Everyone was trying to move around the house as quietly as they can. Most of them were able to sleep, not many wondering eyes from what I saw.

Just shocked to see Daryl still sleeping in my arms, probably shocked everyone else as well.

"Pookie...We gotta get up."
His low growl vibrated my entire stomach, either it was his nickname that sounded him off. Or the fact that it was morning. Having my free hand push away the little bangs that managed to poke at his eye clear off behind his ear did he finally start to rise on up. Taking hold of the dining room table to stretch, everyone was in the kitchen trying to cook meal.

The house came stocked, or was now stocked. And the smell of warm oatmeal was better than anything I could have thought to own, even doing the dishes felt too normal to be true.

"Think we're gonna get jobs today?"
"That lady doesn't know what to give us just yet. I don't blame her. You had a possum in your hands and I looked crazy."

With the dishes almost done now, did his arms reach around my waist. His head resting against my shoulder as he watched me work. Did his growl sound again, only this time. It was deeper.

"House is gonna be free...since everyone got their jobs."
His deep chuckle was felt trailing all over my body, but when he moved away to take the dishrag. I couldn't help to find that nothing but hilarious. Drying dishes and putting them back where they belonged.

Guess he can be a little helpful outside of hunting, but even more so. Was the house not to ourselves, some people were still upstairs, taking showers. Carl was setting Judith in a stroller. So I told him to explore.
The area, the house, the bathroom to get cleaned up. Whichever sort of thing he wanted to hear so I could be alone for a moment.

He got the hint.

Making his way soundly out of the house with the bow in hand.

Letting a deep breath flow on out as I was almost done. Until Rick showed up out of fucking nowhere, making me almost drop the plate.

"What were you doing last night?"
His signature head tilt was odd without his massive beard, I almost seem to miss it. He wasn't the cop back from Atlanta anymore, and I wasn't the silent one.

"Who cut your hair?"
"I asked first."
"Went out, took a smoke. Walked around the community."
"Jessi, she's...Uh...She's our neighbor."

My eyebrows scrunched together, he struggled to say the women's name. And to form a complete sentence about said neighbor, making me add to ounce of wonder.

"I told her...That you're Judith's mom."
I was mid washing a cup when it dropped to the bottom of the sink, licking my lips and grabbing the towel beside me did I begin to dry my hands before looking up to him.

"Why?"
"Because you are her mother."
"The people don't understand the groups relationship just yet..."
"They will. Deanna did."
I rolled my eyes when the women was mentioned, she sort of intimidates me. Whatever her job was beforehand, obviously public to the eyes and the ear. However she ran this place mattered beforehand.

"Didn't give me a job yet. Guess I'll bum around the house with Daryl."
"Or take another walk. Take him with you."
"He left."
"He didn't."
Shaking my head, did I quickly go to the living room to grab my pack. I am not leaving this anywhere other than within this house, and only if I am in it. We haven't situated who lives in what house, but I can assume how this will go down. Two houses for 16 people, eight each. Carl and Judith share a room, Rick can join that. Daryl and I, Glenna and Maggie. Everyone has their title group within the group.
