Chapter 132: ↠MyFriendsCallMeJesus↞

The hours flew by, but I still remained in the room. Right at Carl's side with Judith in my arms, feeling the obligation to stay over going on home. Just waiting for him to wake on up, but the pacing that Daryl continued to do throughout the entire length of us being here. Didn't help either Rick or I.

He said for us to go, for us to bring Judith home to sleep in her bed. But I refused to leave Carl's side, but even now. As I am in the couch of this room, having Judith in grasp cuddling with me, did I hear the sudden chair move quietly on over for them to talk.

"Blake didn't tell me what happened."
"A whole lot of shit...You and your gut feeling of leaving her here. Wish I had that."
"She ain't gonna tell me if it was bad."
"The 'w's' attacked. Whole bunch of them, drove that truck to the wall. Your wife...She...Christ she disguised herself as one of em. Eventually we chased them out, but then that damn tower fell. Brought a herd of walkers in..."
"Saw the smock made a comeback."
"She kept Judith safe, Carl, Michonne...Jessi and her family, we lost them."
The growl of my husband continued, I was going to tell him. But there was no chance in the world the I was going to open my eyes up, they were heavy. And I was fighting the urge to sleep at this very moment.

"Ran into some trouble, shootout when we were makin' a turnaround. Met some assholes who captured me, took my damn bow and bike. Was gonna bring them here too, seemed like nice enough people...When I met back up with Sasha and Abraham, we met this group. This bike gang, some Negan guy the work for. Was gonna take all our shit."
"Can't keep it from her."
"Aurora? She got enough to worry about. Like Carl...Boys been through hell and back."
"Why don't you bring her on home, I'm fine here."

"And Judith?"
"I'll take her. Just get her home, after the last two days. You both need sleep."
Hearing him come all the bit closer, did I feel the baby within my hold lift on up. Little 'shushes' being brought to and fore as the gurgles of my daughter was all that played out.

Then the arms came around my legs and shoulders, picking me up bridal style while my head just lifelessly feel. I had no movement whatsoever, so keen on just going back to sleep that I failed to wake fully up.

"Night Rick."
"Night."
Was the last thing I heard that area before Daryl continued through the cold air of night, I knew it was at least the morning of the next day. But why wait this long to bring me home? How long was I sleeping on that couch, and how much of the conversation did I miss beforehand.

"You're gonna come with me next time I leave those wall, ya hear that bunny? We do better when we're together."

ONE AND 1/2 MONTH LATER

Pulling the sheets on closer to me, I heared the grumble beside me. His breath just inches away from mine, heated more or less. Having accidentalty taken the rest of the covers off of him, and due to the fact we were both bare. I decided to just cover him back on up, along with just planting my head on top of his.

"Going on that run today."
"If you don't want me going, just say it."
"Bunny. Remember what I said?"
"You saying it when I'm half asleep a month ago doesn't count."
"You still heard me."
Stuffing myself back into his hold, did I hear the door knock. Now with the sheet fully over my face allowed Daryl to scoot to the side, facing the opening.
