Aurora Blake's POV
It was morning, or as so says the light shining through the barn. I couldn't sleep even if I tried. The growling mixed in with everything else beyond was making me tense to point of my body becoming sore.
I had a plan. And it may or may not work.
Grabbing one of the horse body blankets from the corner do I lay it on out in front of me. Making a slight cut in the center and a two a bit beyond that. Not even knowing if this will work or not worries me. But not as much as worrying about everyone else.
Walking on out of the barn do I see two Walker's. Silently sneaking up behind them do I stab my knife right into the lower back of their skull and before that one could fall to the ground. I did the same to another.
Two Walker's for my project at hand, dragging them both by the arms is it easier due to the fact I left everything I own in the shed with the horses. I debated on wether or not I should take them, but the reason they've been so quiet is because I fed them all night long. Or rather they ate until they fell asleep.
However they managed to do that is beyond me, but with two bodies within the already smelling shed. I begin my workload.
Just like the one time before, do I raise my knife higher than my hand before stabbing the walker right into the stomach. Saw downwards to reveal all the organs that were rotting inside this corpse.
Grabbing the blood and carving out the insides of the Walker all while rubbing it onto the coat, masking my scent and the scent of the horse's as well. But the smell was all too much to bare, taking the bandana and wrapping it around my nose and mouth covered the smell entirely.
For a few minutes that is, taking my sweater and pulling it over my head did I squeeze my way through the blood stained blanket. But before I did, I managed to put my backpack on. It wasn't as heavy as before. Sticking my arms through did I take my bow, the shotgun was in the backpack, I don't plan on making too much noise.
I plan on blending in.
Peering on out of the barn do I see no sort of Walker's coming this was, so I make sure to close the door tightly. Leaving the horse's plenty of food and water in hopes that we can come back when we've settled somewhere else.
And the moment I stepped into the grassland, did I hit their territory. Each walking in their own given direction, stumbling, falling over. Each time one makes a sound, the other go on for it.
I even walked on off like them, breathing normally and not growling in response to them. I managed to follow a group, hoping that it leads directly towards my own people, but in this case. I doubt that to be a possibility.
The quick closeups of these beasts were enough to make me vomit, if I had any food or any sort of contents in my stomach from the gutting moments ago. Staggering was easy, I don't know why I never did this before.
The woods was my safest bet, if I went on into the house. I think I'd make too much noise for me to survive that sort of thing. So off I went. Continuing to the woods and hoping, just hoping. That I make it back into one piece.
My goal was just to get as far as I could without stopping. To get to the highway.
