Title: Calcutta Calling

Score: 9/10

Theme:

The poems are all unified by a single theme, that these are all memories or longing for Calcutta if I'm not mistaken. Beautiful if I can add, as the narrator's constant reference and yearning for this place adds more depth, tone, and emotion to the story.

Impact:

The emotional impact of the poems are astronomical. The verses of words themselves contain lines of raw, unrestrained emotion. It speaks to me at some sort and appeals to the woes of my heart and the exhaustion of my tired mind. It's poems are all very relatable and helps me in experiencing the pain of heartbreak all over again.

Writing Style:

The poet's writing style is somewhat simple yet emotional. It doesn't overly employ figures of speech to disguise the poems' meanings. Rather, it makes use of a simple narration that colorfully describes the message that the narrator wants to convey, tapping into anecdotal scenes of yearning or heartbreak. It's a break from the complex poems that some poets tend to use.

Fluidity and Flow:

The poem's progression does not have any order at all. Frankly, it kind of surprises you. The poems can transition instantly from lighthearted and sweet to pure and emotional heartbreak. The poems are very smooth though in conveying their message, accentuated by it's use of simple speech and neat verses.

Final thoughts:

The poems really had an impact on me. As a person who not only has experienced heartbreak before, but also longs to go home to my hometown, most of these poems somehow spoke to my heart. They gave me an insight into what a person feels when it comes to our similar situations. And your poems depicted all of the similar feelings that I am feeling about the subject of home.
