Title: The Wolf and the Crow
Chapters read: 7/7
Score: 8/10INTRODUCTION:
The Wolf and the Crow is a dashing fantasy novel complete with a set of unique, lovable characters in an alternate world perfectly sculpted to suit them. It is also a book that deals with problems mirroring our own modern ones, regarding politics, moral quandaries, and discrimination. What I LIKED about your book:
The premise was clearly a great instrument to really hook your readers to the story. It created this sense of curiosity, given that the proceeding chapters don't talk about it, an obvious sign that most of the world is oblivious to that problem, the curiosity of how severe the situation is regarding the spread of the undead. The plot was very intriguing too! It explores many aspects of your story, in the eyes of the helpless victims or in purview of the hero himself, you've navigated it quite well. A lot of problems are also intertwined regarding your world, which gave me a sense of interest to read further. Honestly, I just want to see chaos break out!
The details here are also great! Body language and scenery were perfectly written, complete with realistic dialogue, the scenes actually feels like real-life situations and can easily be pictured when I thought of it as I read the flow of your story.
What I DIDN'T LIKE about your book:
The amount of differing POVs compressed in a small amount of chapters confused me a lot. One of my biggest questions is, are all the POVs occurring at the same chronological setting? Are they occurring at the same time as the other POVs?The rapid changes between your characters' point of view and location has made it hard for me to stay rooted in your story. All the scenes are changing so fast from person to person that even the chronological arrangement of your scenes is questionable (as I've asked in the first paragraph)
CONCLUSION:
The story is written well, though the biggest problem here is the narrative itself but so far your story is really enjoyable!I love the plot wholeheartedly and how well-composed it is. I also love how you depicted the loss of morals when it came to ruthlessness, how easily morals can be forgotten when it came to the hedonistic personalities of not only the king himself, but also his soldiers.
Thank you for dropping by! Keep writing your amazing stories and please update the Wolf and the Crow faster so I can read further on.
