Cassie's POV

I run my fingers through my hair as I walk frantically down the cold hallway of the hospital.

If he thinks that talking to yourself is freakish then my past is a horror story to him!

I run my hand against my left wrist, still remembering exactly where he hurt me and where I hurt myself.

I keep looking at the ground, only to stumble into someone. Muttering a quick 'sorry', I start walking again, but the stranger stops me.

"Cassie?"

I look up to face my worst nightmare.

No, not today.

Luke's POV

I'm swarmed by nurses and doctors asking me question after question and trying to push me back into my hospital bed.

I fight back with every ounce of energy I have left, which is very little considering the condition I'm in.

"I just want to see Cassie!" I scream in response to all their stupid questions about my "health and well-being".

"Calm down, Sir, you've just woken up from a coma and three of your ribs are broken, it is no time for visitors!" One nurse yells in my face.

"Fuck you! It's always a time for visitors!" I shove past two more doctors, trying to regain my breath and lower my heart rate.

"No! You must rest!" A doctor says, whacking my arm with her clipboard.

"Hurting me more won't help you!" I shove past her and three more nurses.

Seeing an opening between two doctors, I zip past them and hold my stomach, ignoring the pain boring through me.

I spot my blue-haired angel only a few yards away.

Cassie!

I run towards her in pure glee, seeing a light at the end of this dark, dreary tunnel. I feel hands shoving my broken-sided ribcage into the wall.

So much for fucking light.

Kade's POV

I ram Luke's body into a wall before he can get to Cassie.

Walking towards her myself, I comb my fingers through my hair and fix my band shirt.

I place my fingers on her shoulder and notice the tears on her cheeks.

"Cassie, look, I'm so sorry for what I-"

"Okay," she interrupts me with a voice as chill as the arctic.

"C-Cassie..." a voice wheezes out behind us, causing Cassie to finally turn around.

"Luke!" She runs toward him, suddenly stricken with extreme worry.

Wow.

She slings his arm over her shoulder and helps him back to his hospital room, leaving me in silence.

Luke's POV

"What are you doing outside your room?!" Cassie exclaims in anything but anger.

"I came to see you," I give her a weak smile.

The corners of her mouth raise slightly and she kisses my cheek after looking amongst her surroundings.

"Th-thank you."

I conceal the smile trying to conjure on my lips from the lingering feeling of hers on my cheek.

She...she kissed me.

The dark feeling of caring summons at the front of my mind.

No. I don't care about her. Not at all.

I shake her arm off my shoulders.

"I can walk the rest of the way," I say coldly.

"Are you sure?" She asks, oblivious to my harsh tone.

"Yes. I'm fine."

I'M NOT FINE. I'M NOT FINE. I'M NOT FINE. I'M NOT FINE. 'IM NOT FINE. I'M NOT FINE I'M NOT FINE.
