A New World Zuko x Reader pt1

My eyes fluttered open, I looked around my surrounding area, realizing I'm in a field full of grass. The sun shined down on me, the headache that I had got more intense. I tried standing up, but my legs were so sore. As well as my body.

Where exactly am I? I'm definitely not back home. Did I get kidnapped? I looked down at my clothes, this definitely wasn't my clothes. I was wearing a light blue tunic that ended mid-thigh, a brown belt was around my waste. I was also wearing some type of brown slim pants and darker brown boots.

I started walking West, the sun was shining on top of me, making me sweat. I wiped of the sweat with my hand, but when I tried flicking my wrist the sweat was floating in the air.

"What the he-" But I stopped myself. Am I in a different universe? Am I in...Avatar?

No that can't be, that's a show that I used to watch when I was 6.

What even happened before that? The sweat that was in the air fell on the ground. If I'm in Avatar, and my sweat literally floated, I think I'm a water bender.

"Am I a waterbender?" I said out loud. Once that happened a vision came along. Everything was dizzy so I sat down in the grass, holding my head.

"Y/n, Mother don't go!" A little girl said. I was crying while holding this woman's hand, assuming my mother. She held me while the Fire Nation Soldiers was bringing my mom and I onto their ship.

"She's not a water bender, I am!" Mom said.

"She is too, I saw her trying to fight us with her water bending." The guy said, ripping me away from my mom.

My eyes opened. I couldn't catch my breath and my nose was wet. I put my finger on my nose and then looked at it, It was a nose bleed. I got up and wiped off of the blood. Started walking again. Something was pulling me into that direction.

I thought to myself again. Who was that? That memory was me, that woman was my mom but I never saw her before. That girl, she looked so familiar, all I remember is that she's my sister. I think I have a brother. These memories are taking over my old ones.

But I need to try to remember on how I got here. I was laying in the hospital bed because I got in an accident, I think. And now i'm here, in the grassy field, being able to water bend. Did I die?

Night time came around, my legs was still so tired of walking. I came across this cliff, and the feeling in my chest was gone. I felt a little relieved. But I still have no idea on where i'm at, or why I'm here.

"Hey! Who are you!" I heard a yell in the distance. I turned around but nobody was behind me.

"Down here!" I heard the voice again, I looked down and there was a boy, waving his hands, I couldn't get a good look of him because it's dark. I found a way to climb down, carefully climbing down on a thick vine, I landed off of 5 feet on the ground, landed with a thud.

I looked up and saw the boy. It was the avatar.

I looked behind him and saw 4 others, sitting around a camp fire. The girl and the boy with the water tribe outfits walked up towards me.

"I'm Aang, this is Katara and Sokka. Who are you? And are you also water tribe!"

Katara and Sokka exchange glances, once they did another vision came along. I sat back down on the concrete, holding my head.

"Water bending is weird and stupid!" Sokka said.

"No it's not! You're just jealous of us!" Katara yelled back at him.

"Kids, be nice to each other." Mother said.

"We are!" I ran and jumped into her arms, she laughed and pulled my hair out of my face.

"It's not fair that Y/n and Katara are waterbenders." My older brother pouted.

"Well once Y/n was born I was for sure that I wouldn't have another water bender, and then after her Katara came along, being a water bender as well."

I felt my nose bleed up again, I wiped it off and got back up.

"Uh are you okay?" Katara asked me.

This memory I just had told me that they're my siblings. Do they have the same memory?

"Yeah I'm fine. I'm Y/n by the way."

Katara's eyes lit up.

"Y/n! I thought you were dead!" She hugged me, wrapping her arms around me, Sokka hugged me as well. We were all holding each other. But I still have no idea what happened. I'm so confused and I know that I can't tell them I'm not real.

"what's going on? Who's not dead?"

We let go of each other and saw 2 people walking towards us. A little girl wearing green and a guy with a scar covering half of his face.

"Toph, Zuko, this is our sister that got taken away 10 years ago!" Katara screamed in excitement. She started to tear up. Sokka hugged me again, whispering in my ear, "I know you would come back."

He let go of me, stepping back. I didnt have any emotion on my face except for confusion and some sadness. I don't know how to feel. I feel those memories, but I can't feel my emotions, if that makes since.

"I'm Y/n. Nice to meet you." I shook Tophs and Zuko's hands.

"Well tell us everything. We missed out on a lot." Katara grabbed my hand and we walked over to the fire pit.

Zuko sat beside of me, Katara on the other side of me. I don't know where to start. The truth where I was in an alternate universe and I somehow got transferred here or the memories? If I do the memory's I honestly don't know much about my life here. Im hoping somebody would trigger the visions so I know what I'm actually doing.

"Well, once I got taken away from our mother the guard kept me somewhere else, I didn't know where they took our mother. But he put me in ragged old clothes and forced me to go in a small cramped room that was in the ship." I do remember that, the memories kept coming, I finally know what was happening.

"I don't remember much, but I know that once we got back to the Fire Nation they put me in a prison, I honestly don't know why they didn't kill me. I do remember that somebody wanted to use me for an experiment but I don't think they ever did." The words coming out of my mouth was something that I remember, but I was never there. Zuko put his hand on my shoulder. When I was 6 I had the biggest crush on him in the show. And now he looks even better in real life.

"I'm sorry for what my people has done to you." He said. I smiled at him and started talking again.

"Somebody broke me out, I don't remember who or how, but I was now living in some kind of city. I don't remember name at all. I lived there with the person who helped me escape for 8 years, but when I was 12 he told me I had to leave again, that they were coming for me. So I ran off, stole some money, stole food, sleeping in peoples houses, it was rough. I've been out here ever since."

I finished talking, my nose was bleeding again, I guess because of the new memories that formed. I wiped my nose with my hand, Zuko gave me some type of cloth.

"Here, I think you need it."

I took it and got rid the rest of the blood. "Thanks."

"I can't believe you were out here all by yourself for such a long time." Katara said, holding my hand.

"Yeah, it's been rough. I couldn't really teach myself waterbending. I didn't have time learn it and plus I couldn't find a teacher."

"Well I'm the master of it." She said proudly.

"Uh and I'm the master of boomerang!" Sokka yelled. I laughed and accidentally leaned on Zuko.

"I'm so sorry!" I said laughing. Zuko smiled softly and got up. The others got up as well to go to sleep since it was so late. Katara and Sokka got me caught up with what was happening in this world.

I slept right next to Zuko, mainly because he's warm. Once I closed my eyes I slowly drifted to sleep.
