Chapter Thirteen

NAGISING ang dalagang si Killani sa init na tumatama sa mukha niya, she let out a sigh before staring at Didrik who's still sleeping by her side. Nakahiga parin siya sa braso nito, the sunlight exposed every detail of his face. Killani put her hand under her chin before ogling over him, she would be lying if she's going to say that he's not handsome. Even handsome can't describe the beauty that God blessed this man with, ito lang talaga ang lalaking nakakuha ng atensyon niya.

Killani raised her hand before touching his face, just by the feeling of his skin under her fingertips sent butterflies to her stomach. Her hand travelled around his face with a subtle move, she traced his thick eyebrows, the tip of his pointy nose, stopping by his delectable lips. She bit her lip to suppress a grin, ang gwapo naman ng lalaking 'to.

Killani closed the distance between them and kissed his forehead, letting her lips stay there for awhile before pulling back. A pair of silvery eyes bore into her.

"I love that."

"What?" She whispered, her hand tenderly held his cheek.

"The way you wake me up." Didrik answered, the same emotion from last night is vivid on his eyes.

"I'm sorry I woke you up, just sleep again if you want too." Killani said before getting up from the bed but Didrik pulled her again, a tiny gasp of surprise left her lips when he swiftly went on top of her. She gulped. Hard.

Heto na naman siya, nagiging marupok na naman.

"Waking up by your side is the best thing that happened, min kärlek." He looked at her intently, a shade of desire was present on his face. Killani forced a frown, pretending not to be affected.

But deep down, a fire has been ignited.

"What is min kärlek?" Tanong niya, Didrik smiled at her softly.

"That's for me to know, and for you to find out." She held his hair, softly combing it with her fingers. Didrik's smile faded before laying down on top of her, not putting all of his weight for the baby's sake. Killani smiled, she wrapped her arms around his nape and hugged him closer.

Her heart was about to explode, and she knows that Didrik can feel it too. For all the times that they've been together, this is the first time that they share such intimacy. Intimacy that doesn't involve sexual things, just hugging and cuddling with each other.

"I feel so good." He said, Killani kissed his head. "Me too, Didrik. Me too." She whispered, he lifts his head up, chin on the valley of her breast.

"You do?" She nodded her head while staring at his sparkling eyes, ito ang unang beses na nakita niya ang mata ng binata na puno ng buhay. Halatang masaya ito sa mga nangyari, parang kailan lang nung nag away silang dalawa.

Didrik fell silent, still staring at her eyes. Minutes have passed and his eyes became dull, the scintillation disappeared. Worry filled Killani's heart.

"Anong nangyari? Are you okay?" Nagaalalang tanong niya, pero hindi ito sumagot. "Didrik, answer me. May masakit ba sayo? Did something happen? Masakit ba ang ulo mo? O baka--"

"I'm sorry."

Killani stilled.

"I'm sorry for everything, for causing you pain. If I didn't act like a jerk then maybe we're already happily married right now, I'm sorry for cheating on you. I'm sorry for underestimating you, for dragging you down because you're a woman. I know you can't forgive me, but please give me another chance." Killani stayed unmoving, eyes still fixed on him. Didrik tightly closed his eyes.
