I hold my hand up to my lip, applying pressure, trying to make it stop bleeding. I swipe the blood away frustrated, as I walk around for a bit, not knowing where to go to get myself cleaned up.
I don't want to go back to the cabin I'm staying in, because Eli and Jax are probably there. And I don't think they would appreciate me walking in after beating up their mate.
A few kids walk past and stare at my cut face, they gasp, wide eyed and scurry away from me. After a while, I find myself at the front door of cabin no.5, I realise that Alison and Naomi are no where to be seen.
Lightly, I knock on the door but I don't get a response.
I hear a muffled sound from the other side of the door and then silence. I'm not going to stand her like an idiot when she's in there upset. I knock again, this time harder and then reliase the door is unlocked.
Well done Leo.
The door creeks open a little, it's enough for me to see the first bed in the room. I push the door open the rest of the way and step in, closing it behind me. There she is.
Sitting on the bed, with her back against the head board, looking down at her shaking hands, is Jade.
Her perfect blonde hair sticking to her tear stained face, her delicate fingers picking at her nails. Crying has made her cheeks a light shade of red and her pink lips swollen. Even in her weakest state she looks perfect.
What the fuck?
I shake my head and go to stand by the window. I don't think she has realised it's me, she probably thinks it's Naomi or Alison coming to check up on her.
I clear my throat awkwardly and she snaps her head to look at me and her eyes go wide in shock. Why is she surprised to see me? Does she think that I wouldn't come to check on her?
"Oh my god Leo your bleeding." She states jumping off the bed and quickly comes towards me.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
"It's nothing." I laugh softly and then groan from the movement.
"Come here," she ushers me over to her bed and commands me to sit down. She hurries into the bathroom and then returns with a wet towel.
Worriedly, she sits next to me and takes my hand into hers, dabbing light with the towel to wipe away the blood. Her eyes focusing on my hands, busy with the task to clean it, oblivious to what she's doing to me.
It's that feeling again.
My heart races, just like the first time we touched, it felt like electricity. I'm not sure if she felt it too, I'm not even sure if she feels it this time. My body stiffness and she looks up at me.
Without hesitation she moves her free hand to my lip, her soft skin on mine. I flinch at the action, but she doesn't draw her hand back.
My body starts to tense up as she delicately traces her finger tip under my bottom lip and around my cut, careful not to touch the blood. My heart starts to pound against my chest, it becomes so loud that I can hear it ringing in my ears.
I keep my eyes focused on hers as she carefully runs her thumb under the bruise now forming around my eye. She scrunches her nose in concern as her gaze is removed from mine, she gasps in shocked as she discovers a new cut.
Her hand holding the towel goes straight to my eyebrow causing me to hiss in pain, she snatches her hand away. "Sorry, does that hurt?" She asks worried.
Well no shit, but I don't want to make her feel bad. She goes a light shade of pink and starts to stand up, but before she can move away I grab her wrist.
Her eyes go to my bruised hand around her small pale wrist. The contrast makes me internally cringe, wishing I never came here in the first place. Her eyes flick up at mine and they soften, she relaxes and allows me to guide her back onto the bed.
"No, its fine. You're fine. It's my fault in the first place." I say hoping that she understands.
"Please." I hold out my damaged hand, for some reason wanting her and only her to be the one to clean my wounds. Maybe she wants a little project, to help the fucked up loner Leo.
Maybe she wants to be around me to piss off her pretty little boy-toy. I can't think of any other reason she would actually choose to help the person who beat up her boyfriend.
As I'm thinking, she reluctantly puts the towel against my hand again. We sit in silence for a few moments, her tending to my cut fists and I start to wonder why she hasn't asked how I got these cuts.
She probably figured it out by now and doesn't want to any anything. As if she reads my mind, she looks up at me and our eyes lock.
"You hit him, didn't you?" She questions knowingly. I'm surprised as she doesn't sound angry or upset she just sounds confused.
I sigh and stand up walking over to the window, ignoring her question. I lean up next to the window and look at her, she still looks confused.
It's simple, he said some shit, I said some shit, I kicked his arse.
"You got into a fight with Will." She states trying to make sense of it. She paces up and down the cabin.
"Why?" She adds her voice getting high pitched, starting to get worked up. Her eyes have that faint fire behind them again and her brows are burrowed in confusing.
When she thinks hard I can see the clogs turning in her pretty head, trying to piece together a thought. She tilts her head to the side ever so slightly, making her hair fall around her face perfectly. It's cute.
Leo. Back to the real world please.
"Your kidding right?" I laugh searching her eyes. Is she really asking me why I hit her dickhead of a boyfriend?
He treats her like absolute shit, it's madness how she hasn't dumped him by now. Guys back home wouldn't last five minutes like that without getting slapped, or a drink poured on them.
Yeah, guilty.
Jade looks back at me blankly.
God this girl is clueless.
