Chapter 65

Jade's POV

I smile up at Leo once more before I turn towards my cabin door. Opening it, I'm almost pounced by a worried Naomi and Alison.

"What happened? Where did you go?" Naomi runs to the window and her eyes go wide when she sees Leo standing there, his hands shoved into his shorts.

"I will kill you." she hisses in his direction, dragging her middle finger along her throat, symbolising slitting his throat. Leo just shrugs smirking, holding both his hands up in defeat, taking a few steps backwards showing he's innocent.

Alison's hands are twisting me around and her eyes are frantically scanning for something, "Are you hurt? Are you bleeding?" She asks concerned and I roll my eyes.

"I'm not hurt physically." I say smiling softly and both girls stop harassing me, instead now dragging me into the room by my arms. I look over my shoulder trying to make eye contact with Leo, but I only catch the back of his head as he walks off, the cabin door shutting off any sight of him.

"I swear to god if Leo touched you, I will kill him." Naomi has her soft arms crossed and one leg in front of the other tapping against the floor, eyebrow raised waiting for an explanation.

"Leo?" I look between both girls confused and then it clicks.

Leo.

"No. No, nothing like that happened." I explain and they both let out a deep breath and sit on my bed with me. I pick at the skin around my thumb as the tears form in my eyes.

They both sit listening intensively as I replay everything that happened yesterday. From Will leaving with Kennedy, to me and Leo finding them and then hitting both of them.

I left out the part about sleeping on the dock with Leo. I don't think they need to know that. Or maybe it's something else.

"I'm going to strangle that dirty-" Naomi is interrupted by Alison.

"Are you okay?" She asks pulling me into a hug, I close my eyes as I wrap my arms around her back.

"I'm not in the best of mind frames right now." I laugh softly as I open my eyes to see Naomi pacing up and down the room holding her hands out, as though she's trying to choke the air.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you." Alison's sincere voice tells me as she slowly realises me from the hug.

"I'll live." I say quietly and wipe at the hot tear that has silently escaped.

"I'm going to find him." Naomi announces but I shake my head.

"I don't want to make a big deal out of it. I think it would be best if we just ignore him for the rest of the summer." I suggest and bite my lip lightly.

Naomi lets out a frustrated sigh, "Fine." She mumbles and then flops down on the bed.

Ali sits back from me and pulls out a pack of cards, "Who's ready to be absolutely slaughtered by me at uno?" She grins and I laugh, feeling a little better than I did earlier.

"You wish." Naomi looks between us, a wicked smile across her soft lips.

"Game on."

"Okay, now that I've beaten both of you at uno more times than I can count." Ali says in a sing-song voice and I groan.

She was right. We're not very good at uno.

"Can we go to the party?" She puts away the cards and picks up her phone. "It's eight pm." Her baby blue eyes look between me and Naomi.

I spent the day with the girls, playing cards, going down to the lake to sunbathe. Making an appearance in the dining hall to get some lunch and then leaving when Will tired to talk to me.
