"Well firstly, I don't want to get in trouble and secondly, it was Will who smashed the bottle." I say as we get the the bank, hopping down to the grass, the softness of the grass realising the pressure from my head and my feet.

"Of course it was Will." I hear leo say from behind me, I ignore it as I take a seat on the grass bank.

Sinking down I lower my back so I'm lying flat on the floor, the sides of my hoodie open, my stomach bare. Allowing the sun hitting it warming my skin.

Leo awkwardly watches as I move around trying to get comfortable, standing with his hands in his pockets, his black shirt sleeves rolled up showing his defined biceps.

"Sit." I command holding up a hand to my face to shield the sun from my eyes, he just stares at me for a moment, before giving in and taking a seat next to me. Bending his legs in front of his to rest his arms on them.

He runs his hand through his hair and reaches into his pocket, pulling out his black sunglasses and puts them over his eyes.

I watch as he looks over to Hunter and his group walking back towards the cabins, a few kids frowning as he tells them they cant go kayaking today.

Leo's sharp jawline highlighted as his head points away from me, his strong arm around his knees, his dark hair pushed up out of his face making my stomach swirl.

I take a deep breath as I close my eyes and let my head fall against the grass, laying my hands either side of my hips letting the sun warm my body.

"How come you were on the dock at the right time?" I say sitting up suddenly confused, "And how did you know about the glass?" I say furrowing my eyebrows, now complete out of the loop.

"Umm." He starts, looking at me he goes quite. Is he being shy? The though of 'bad boy' Leo being shy makes my chest tighten, I have to bite my lip to stop a laugh from escaping.

"I saw you running down here and figured I needed to help, because with you there's always some sort of drama." He says, his voice monotone.

My mouth drops open and I scoff. "Hey," I whine, "there's not alway drama."

"Debatable." He looks away from me back out to the water and I have the sudden urge to pounce him.

I'm sorry what?

Jade, why do you want to pounce him? It doesn't matter anyway, because Im not going to. For many reasons.

"I saw the glass just as the kid was about to step on it, I just grabbed him. It wasn't that big of a deal." He shrugs looking back at me.

It was weird to see Leo being so heroic, if that makes sense, so selfless and just caring for the first time.

The traumatic scene now etched into that poor child's mind, confused and too innocent to know why he had to be saved by a random guy. I then remember who put that child in that position in the first place.

I rub my hands over my face as sigh, "God, Will is such a dick."

Leo's head snaps in my direction his eyebrows raised and I see a smirk start to appear on his lips.

"Like why does he have to be so inconsiderate, you know?" I furiously rip at the grass, pulling up long strands and tossing them to the side of me. I see Leo nod his head, choosing not to say anything.

"That kid could have been really hurt!" I exclaim my voice breaking slightly, he chuckles softly and my head snaps up so my eyes meet his, "You think this is funny?"

He looks surprised at my sudden outbursts, "No. No, of course not," he repeats, "I just don't know why your getting so worked up about it." He laughs softly and something inside me ticks over the edge.
