I feel giddy as a smile breaks over my face. I can't believe I just did that. I have never felt so alive. The smoke in my veins, Leo's body up against mine, everything inside me on edge.

All I want is for this interaction with Hunter to be over so I can go back to Leo.

"Hunter, what's up?" I ask quickly, looking back over my shoulder to see Leo's disappeared. Brilliant.

He steps closer to me and I see something flicker across his eyes and he leans down to my ear. "I just wanted to see if you were alright."

He has to talk loud to be heard over the music and I lean back, nodding up at him.

"Do you want to go somewhere quieter?" He asks looking around us and I decide if it means I get to go back to Leo, then I'll do it.

"Sure." I smile politely up at him and then almost flinch as he takes my hand into his. He leads us away from the party and further into the trees.

We stop when we get to another clearing, the setting sun shines a ray directly onto a patch on the floor. He stops walking and turns towards me.

His tall figure looks down at me as he removes his hand from mine and puts it on my arm, "I heard about what happened with Will."

I let out a shaky breath, I don't want to be talking about Will right now.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. Sometimes relationships don't work out." I shrug and bite lightly down on my lip as I cross my arms over my chest.

I think I imagine it as Hunters eyes light up, "I know exactly what you mean." He starts and I get a bad feeling.

"I'm sorry it had to end like that though." He smiles warmly down at me and I can't help as I smile back at him. He has that effect on people, he makes them feel safe.

"Thank you for coming to check up on me." I move my hand to his and rub it, hoping to let him know I appreciate him.

"Of course Jade, I will always be there for you." He moves his hand to my hair and tucks a strand behind my ear.

The action is far too familiar and I start to get uncomfortable.

It doesn't feel how it feels when he does it.

Hunter leans down towards me and I smell the alcohol on his breath, "No matter what happens, I will always care for you."

"I really appreciate that Hunter." I say stepping back, deciding that now is the best time to get away from him.

"We should probably get back to the others." I say looking over my shoulder at the trees that now look golden from the sun. Light talk can be heard, along with music, but other than that we are alone.

"We could stay here if you want." Hunter says and I turn to look back at him. His friendly brown eyes are searching my face.

"Just me and you." His voice is light but I can tell there's something unsettling behind it. I like Hunter as a friend, nothing more.

"I should really get back," I force out a laugh, "you know how impatient Leo can be." I roll my eyes for effect but Hunter tenses up at the mention of Leo.

"You're here with Leo?" His voice goes cold and I regret opening my mouth.

"Yeah, he's really been helping me with the whole Will situation." I purse my lips together and look away from him.

That wasn't exactly a lie.

"Isn't he the one who made the whole 'Will situation' worse?" I can clearly tell Hunter is one Will's side and I have to forcefully stop myself from rolling my eyes.

"Leo wasn't involved with that." I sigh, "Will wanted something that I couldn't give him, if you know what I mean." I cross my arms over my chest and Hunter nods his head looking away from me.

"That is fine and everything, but I'm not going to do something I'm not ready for." I keep my voice confident and Hunter looks back at me.

"But you're ready now?" His voice perks up slightly and I feel my mind screaming at me to get out of here.

"What?" My voice comes out as a whisper.

"Well you know," he looks over my shoulder, "I saw you with Leo." He chuckles as he moves closer to me, "It didn't exactly look like you weren't ready."

My body stiffens as he moves his hands to either side of my hips. His warm touch makes me flinch, his large hands feel unnatural on my skin.

I think I imagine it as I hear a twig snap, I ignore it.

"You wouldn't need to wait now, not now that you've done it with Leo." His eyes scan my body and I stop breathing.

"I'm still a virgin." My voice comes out as a squeak and his grip tightens on my waist.

"Even better." Is all I hear before he leans down and pushes his lips against mine.

I loose my breath as his soft lips touch mine, his vanilla scent filling my nose as his hand pull my closer to him.

I can't move. I can't speak. I can't breath.

His lips linger on mine for a few second more, before he parts our lips and steps back. His hands still around my waist, his eyes sparkling as he stares down at me.

He says something but I've already tuned him out, my focus on something else.

A green eyes boy who's staring directly at me, his hands in his pockets, his messy hair ruffled by the slight breeze. He doesn't take his eyes off me, even as I step away from Hunter and towards him.

He doesn't look angry, he doesn't look pissed.

He looks hurt.
