I heave open the heavy wooden door that is the entrance to my home and let is firmly shut close behind me. In front of me is a black Honda Civic, rolled up on the marvel stone driveway, the passenger window rolled down to a dark skinned girl with one arm resting on the door and the other sliding her Chanel sunglasses up into her luscious dark brown hair.
Hearing the gravel crunch under my feet, I feel a smile spreading across my lips as I near the black car. The girl in the front grins, her dark brown eyes sparkling in the sun, "Hello gorgeous," she beams her voice is soft like honey. Naomi. She's tall and lean, with the body of a model, she smells like vanilla. I lean in through the window and her arms embrace me in a hug. "God I've missed you," she pushes me back "hurry up get in we've got so much to tell you."
I just smile. "Okay, okay I'm getting in," I laugh, opening the back door to another girl, Alison, a tanned brunette, with a sweet smile clapping her hands excitedly, before twirling a simple but sparkling necklace between her thumb and forefinger. "Jade! We missed you." Her blue eyes light up and I lean over the middle seat to give her a hug. She smells like lavender.
Just as I'm about to pick my suitcase up from the floor, Naomi's dad steps past me without a word, picking up the bag and starts adding it to the pile of bags in the boot of the car. "Oh. I was about-"
"No need Jade, family shouldn't have to do anything when you're in the hands of the Kings." The dark skinned man wearing knee length black shorts and a open buttoned white shirt, loosely hanging around the bottom of his torso says easily as he shuts the boot, before turning to me and flashing a perfectly bright white smile. If he wasn't almost fifty and my best friends dad I would so do him.
"Thank you Mr King." I smile politely, forgetting for a moment how formal Naomi's father is compared to her mother. God, that women is almost a spitting image of Naomi, when she's had one too many vodka martinis, that is.
Sometimes I wish she was my mother, not that mines too far off. "Get in the car bitch." The dark skinned girl in the front calls, her brown eyes inspecting her intricately designed white and gold acrylic nails.
I put my hands up in surrender, "I'm coming, I'm coming. God." I fumble around with my remaining bags left on the drive way before stopping to look back at my house once again. It's a weird feeling when you know you won't be home for a while. It's exciting, but almost bittersweet.
Naomi looks up over at me from the front seat, she raises her perfectly shaped eyebrows, "What did I just say Harlow?" Her eyes are dead serious but the slight grin on her face tells me she's been dying to see me for months.
"Good to see you too Naomi." I laugh as I pull open the door to the car, sliding in next to Alison and hugging her again.
"Okay girls put your seatbelts on, we're leaving." Mr King slides into the drivers seat and shuts the door with a strong, slow gush of air which makes that sound of a new but expensive car door. He does his own belt across his chest and puts his dark hands which are covered in golden jewellery firmly on the steering wheel with a expiration of breath.
Looking into the review mirror, he nods at me and then Alison, the same dark brown eyes that Naomi has, twinkling with that mischief his daughter inherited from him and takes a deep breath in. "Let's get this party started bitches."

An hour later, after Naomi's non stop talk about a new boy she is talking to, we arrive at camp. We thank Mr King for driving us as we get out of the car and grab out bags from the boot. The car's wheels crunch on the gravel as it pulls away from us, leaving us looking ahead at the entrance.
"Camp Echo Falls" is written in massive red letters on a wooden sign hanging above the walk way, held up by two wooden poles. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath of the familiar outdoors scent and I find a smile playing on my lips. Naomi and Alison appear either side of me as we drag our suitcase to our normal meeting spot. There are hundreds of people here, I've never seen camp so busy. The air is buzzing with excitement as children hug their parents goodbye, friends jumping on each other as they reunite after a long year at school. Suitcases are littered around groups of people standing, as girls laugh together and boys fist bump each other. The speaker loudly interrupts the chaos, stating the main hall with be opening in ten minutes. We find our way through the crowds of children and teens of all different ages, to our usual meet up spot. The blue direction's post stands in the middle of the open space in front of the main hall.
The post stands tall towering over the children crowding the space around it, we find it easily. As normal, there are three boys waiting for us, standing and chatting.
"We're back bitches!" Naomi screams, throwing her hands into the air and running to the boys. My eyes widen for just a second, taken back. Alison shakes her head beside me and I smile. Naomi runs and throws herself at an unaware blonde boy, almost sending both of them to the ground. It draws the attention of all three boys, and some unimpressed parents, as we join the group laughing, greeting them with long hugs after all this time, and getting straight back into conversation, catching up about everything that happened whilst we were away at school.
In total there are six of us - three girls and three boys. Naomi, who's manicured hands are set precisely on Eli's shoulders, her chocolate brown eyes wide as she gives him the endless details about the latest scandal she encountered. Her skin is the same gorgeous dark brown as her eyes, glowing in the golden mid afternoon sun shining down on camp. Her caramel highlighted curls fall effortlessly down her back, sitting nicely just below her waist.
Standing next to her is Alison, shyly under the arm of one of the boys, her baby blue eyes light up as he makes an attempt at a joke. Her dark black hair stops just below her shoulders, straight and tidy, contrasting beautifully to her tanned skin. She has her black reading glasses rested on top of her head and around her neck hangs a necklace with a book charm on it. She's normally quite kept to herself, but is most definitely the sweetest girl I've ever met.
Will is standing at the front of the group. His dirty blond hair falls over his forehead, I can just about see his dark blue eyes under his hair. His eyes compliment his lightly tanned skin, his lips curled up into a perfectly handsome grin. His tonnes biceps are crossed over his broad chest as he holds himself up with confidence. A white t-shirt shows his defined muscles and black jean shorts show off his strong legs. He got from both playing football and hours of training, which he doesn't shy away from telling me over the phone every time we talk.
Will's younger brother, Jax, is standing with his arm around Alison. His shorter dark hair, is cropped neatly at the sides and held back securely with a black bandanna. His golden brown eyes are the complete opposite to Will's, paired with the endless amounts of tattered bracelets he wears all along both his arms. He wears a black t-shirt with a bands name written across the front as well as dark blue Jean shorts.
Eli, who's now taking a selfie with the pouting Naomi, has tight curly blond hair, making his light green eyes shine even brighter now that he's dyed it a shade more platinum. I swear that boy owns every pair of Jordans in existence. Today he's wearing red and black shoes, red shorts and a black button up top, that he's left undone. His bright white smile is a literal boy magnet, as he always seems to have at least one boy hopelessly in love with him. "Getting undressed already?" I smile at Eli referring to his open top.
"You wish Jade," he winks back and I laugh. The group has split into pairs, Naomi and Alison talking about something on Naomi's phone, whilst Eli and Jax bicker over something like children.
The blonde boy with dark blue eyes makes his way towards me, a boyish grin across his face. Before I can say hi, he wraps his arms around my lower back and picks me off the floor, twirling us around and snuggling his head into my neck, breathing me in with his entire breath, he whispers against me, "Hey baby."
