Chapter 30
~*~
(Grayson's Point if View)We went to Serena's apartment after I crashed down like a crybaby a while ago. She told she's going to cook breakfast for me, and as much as I just wanted to go home and be alone right now... I wasn't able to say no to her. I just couldn't bring myself to do so.
"What do you want to eat?" she asked as soon as we got inside of her apartment.
"U-Uh, anything..." I replied as I watch her put her stuff down and tie her up.
"Anything is not a food, Gray. Psh. Eggs and bacon?"
"Whatever is more convenient for you."
Serena sighed and said, "Take a seat. You can turn the television on and watch something. I'll take twenty to thirty minutes to finish cooking, so just wait for me."
I did as I was told without a word. I sat down on one of the couches in her living room, then I turned the television on and watched a movie.
And oddly enough... Twilight is on right now.
"Ha! Nice pick," I heard Serena muttered in the kitchen. I looked at her, and she's busy preparing the food she's going to cook.
I thought she's just going to cook eggs and bacon, but why does it seem like she's going to cook a much heavier meal? She looks like a chef right now. Psh.
I turned back around and watched the movie. This is the only good movie that is on right now, so I really have no other choice but just to watch it. And I'm not even gonna lie, Twilight is actually a pretty good movie.
"Tss. That's ridiculously not true," Serena suddenly said that made me turn again to look at her. "What kind of a vampire sparkles when they're out in the sunlight?!"
I couldn't help but laugh softly by what she said. It's funny and amusing to see and hear a vampire complaining about how absurd a vampire movie is. I mean, that's an extremely rare occasion.
"Glad I made you laugh," she said.
"I-It's funny," I replied.
Serena just smiled and continued cutting the vegetables. I couldn't help but notice that she's cutting them in a weird way, so I stood up and went towards her in the kitchen.
"Let me help you," I offered, grabbing the knife from her hand as she moved to the side so I can take over.
"What are you doing? I'm the one who's cooking for you. Go back there in the living room," she ordered, but I just ignored her and continued cutting the carrots into small pieces.
"Do you really know how to cook?" I asked.
Serena bowed her head down and scratched the back of her neck then said, "O-Of course I do!"
I chuckled and shook my head.
"I completely understand if you don't know how. You're a vampire, so when do you ever eat human food?"
When she didn't answer, I stopped and looked at her with a sad smile on her face.
"I-I'm sorry. D-Did I offend you?" I said, and she shook her head.
"No, not at all," she replied and smiled at me genuinely. Serena added, "You're right. I never really cook since I don't need to, but I've been practicing for a while though. When I'm in the mood, I watch YouTube videos and followed along."
"What made you want to cook?"
Serena looked at me in the eyes and said, "Because I wanted to cook something good for the guy I like."
