Thinking Out Loud

They were freshly married. Newlyweds, if you will. As much as they wanted to make a run for it and have it their own special way. They still had the reception.

Camila changed into a sunflower yellow dress that had two small straps holding it up. It flowed with the wind but luckily, they were now inside where dinner would be held with a dance floor in the centre.

Around the hall were paintings that Camila had made over the course of their relationship. All of course being the two. Some were just of Shawn that she created, others were of the both of them and one was of her that Shawn created. It was awful but in the most beautiful ways because it was created by a beautiful man that loved a beautiful women.

"Congratulations Mr and Mrs Mendes!" Everyone shouted as the two walked in, hand in hand with fresh wedding bands on their ring fingers. The words "I do" still fresh on their tongue.

"Thank you, everyone!" They both shouted over the music that played.

After dinner it was their time to cut the cake as a married couple but instead of a cake, they ordered dozens of pastries from their favourite cafe in Milan.

"You ready?" She whispered, her hand under his on the knife. He nodded, slicing into the pastry and feeding each other a piece. They moaned in delight, "save the moaning for tonight, Mrs. Mendes." Shawn whispered, seductively into her ear. Shivers coarse down her spine as she smacked his chest, playfully.

Then, soon came the time where their loved ones express their feelings and gratitude to the newlywed couple.

"So...what can I say? My brother? Pain in the ass." Aaliyah starts, receiving many laughs and an eye roll from the one and only, Ass. "But, I have to give him credit for finding the most magical, loving women there is." She smiled sweetly at Camila who was already tearing up.

"Camila and Shawn, I know I don't have to wish you the best because I already know that with a love as deep as yours and hearts as big...you'll be fine. The love you two share is rare. And...Shawn?" He nodded, "don't be dumb." She winked before handing off the microphone to her mother and squeezing the pair, tightly.

"Oh my God. Truthfully, I never thought I'd be here because my son...you love so hard and you give your all to everyone which is great but every single time...you had your heart broken." Camila squeezed Shawn's hand, "but...when I first heard you talk about Camila...that's when I knew that she was the one for you. Never have you ever talked about a women like you did. As if she was rare, which she is, might I add. I never liked the people you brought home but when I met Camila...she was instantly my favourite. I love you both so, so, so, much. I'm so glad to be here and witness your love and happiness blossom. Congrats, I love you." She blew the two kisses, with tears streaming down all of their faces.

Hearing their loved ones speak about their relationship was decidedly beautiful.

"Okay." Sinu started, "first of all....congratulations my mija and mijo!" She raised her glass, as did everyone else. "Camila always had a tough time loving and she had a tough time feeling loved. Which, to be honest, made me believe that she genuinely just did not want anyone. But when she told me about the lovely Shawn Mendes...there was this spark in her eyes and I knew that my Camila was going to fall in love." Everyone awed and Shawn kissed Camila's temple. "Then, there was a time where Camila admitted that she loved him but couldn't say it and she was scared. I was scared too. But, my oh my, did Camila fall hard and he was there to catch her and for that...I'm grateful. Sofia would love you Shawn and she would've loved to be here and I know she is watching down on you two. So...I know the amount of love and the effort it took to get here and standing here in front of my daughter and my now son-in-law, feels like a dream. I love you both." She whispered the last part.
