The next day, I went out in search of a new training partner. I was wondering the streets when I saw Naruto. Excited, I raced up to him. "Naruto, do you want to train with me? With Sasuke missing, I'm in need of a new training partner".
"Sorry (Y/N), but I'm training with my new teacher today". I couldn't hide my disappointment. "Why don't you join us?"
I gave him a forced smile. "Oh no, it's OK. I'm sure I'll find someone". I ran off before he had the chance to say anything.
Eventually, I ran into Sakura and Ino. "Hey guys," I greeted them.
"What's up?" Sakura asked me.
"I'm looking for a training partner; Sasuke's missing, Naruto's got himself a new Sensei, and I can't find anyone else".
They looked at each other. "If you want, we could train with you".
"No offence guys, but you're not exactly what I'd consider 'strong'. I need a challenge!" I looked to the side and spotted the Sand Siblings. 'Perfect'. I said goodbye to the girls and raced off towards the Sand Siblings.
I jumped in front of them with a smile. "Hey, you're the Sand Siblings, right? Temari, Kankurō, and Gaara, right?"
"And you're (Y/N), right? The one everyone's talking about," Kankurō pointed out.
I nodded. "That's me! Now that we know each other, I wanted to ask you guys something. With Sasuke missing, I don't have anyone to train with, so I was wondering if you guys would train with me".
"Aren't we fighting each other in the finals?" Temari stepped in.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not really focusing on that right now. So what do you say?"
"Why is everyone talking about you?" Kankurō asked me.
I rolled my eyes again. "Train with me and I'll tell you anything you want to know". After a while, they agreed. Excited, I led them to the place Sasuke and I trained at.
Kankurō chose to fight me first. He took out his puppet and went to attack me, but I dodged just in time. I used my Fire-Style Fireball Jutsu and ended up burning his Chakra Threads, defeating him.
Temari was next. I used the Fire-Style Fireball Jutsu again. She used her fan to blow the fire away which, incidentally, also blew it in my direction, knocking me back and defeating me. That was when I learned to never use fire against someone who used wind.
Last was Gaara. I threw my weapons at him, but his sand shield just blocked them. When he was focused on my weapons, I slipped a snake out of my sleeve and made it invisible as it made its way to Gaara. He seemed to be losing control of that bloodlust. His sand grabbed me and surrounded my body. He held his hand out but before he had a chance to do anything, he seemed paralysed. His sand let go of me and I clicked my fingers to show that Gaara had been tied by my snake. I clicked my fingers again and it was gone. Temari and Kankurō were staring at me wide-eyed.
I looked out at the town and decided to end it there. I turned back to the guys. "How about we meet here at the same time tomorrow?" I then turned around in a hurry to run away before they remembered the deal we made.
Apparently, I wasn't so lucky. "Wait, what about our deal?" Temari called out from behind me. "You said you'd tell us anything we want to know if we trained with you".
I turned around with a smirk on my face. "I did, but I never said when". I took a look at their angry faces before I continued. "I promise I will tell you before the finals". I quickly changed the subject. "So same time tomorrow?"
