I watch Ama walk away with a pained expression on her face and see Noah go after her. Ohhh, this is not going to go well. He should leave her alone.

I get up and make eye contact with Mr. Alderidge. I walk up to him and he says: "I'll take Benedictus home. You take care of Ama." But Benny starts to cry because he wanted to celebrate his win with Ama. I crouch down and comfort him.

"Benedictus, I promise you will see Ama again soon. I'm sure she is sad that she can't celebrate with you either. Ama wouldn't want you to cry though. She would want you to celebrate." He sobs in my arms and my heart breaks for him.

He wipes his eyes and says: "Yes. No crying. Celebrate." Mr. Alderidge ruffles his hair and grabs his hand.

I see Noah climb the stands from the corner of my eye and I get up and make my way over to him.

"Where's Ama?"

He looks into my eyes and I see his heartbreak. But I don't care right now. I need to know how Ama is doing.

"S-she ran away. I m-made her run away. I'm sorry."

She ran? Ama doesn't run. She's hurting way more than I thought she was. My heart starts to race and I start to panic.

Feli and Noelle make their way over to us with Nicky and Fae. Noelle invites everyone to go for ice cream.

Feli studies my eyes and asks: "Mona? What's up?"

I'm furious and spit out: "Ask Noah. He made Ama run away."

Nicky invites Benedictus along for ice cream too and soon the entire team is gathered around us. The kids want to eat ice cream together and the parents want to thank Noah.

After trying to get Ama on the phone for the fifth time, I decide to send her a message. I really hope she replies because I feel sick to my stomach not knowing where she is or how she's feeling.

We make it over to the ice cream parlor with the huge group of kids and adults. Even Mr. Alderidge came with Benedictus. He joins me at a table and tries to make conversation with me. "Mona, I know you're worried. But until you hear from her there's nothing you can do."

"I know Mr. Alder-"

"No. I'm Harold for you too. You're not at work right now."

He gets up and raises his voice. "Ice cream is on me! Pick whatever you like."

He sits down with a smile and Benedictus sits down on his lap. My eyes water when I hear him tell his son how proud he is of him. Benedictus hugs his dad and thanks him for being there. Harold looks emotional too, "It's all thanks to Ama, boy. She made it happen. We will have to come up with a way to thank her. But first, ice cream!"

My phone vibrates in my hand and I open the message immediately.

I'm okay.
Ran into a gentleman.
He's driving me home.
I'm going to take a bath, relax, wax, and hope for sex.

I breathe out and chuckle at her joke. She's okay. She always makes silly jokes to let me know she's fine. I'll call her later. Because as much as I want to talk to her right now, I know she needs her alone time and I respect that.

I look up and see Benny come my way with rainbow-colored soft serve ice cream. "Nanny! This is for you. It's a rainbow!" He looks so proud that I can't help but smile and accept the ice cream. Harold sits down at the table again and hands Benny his blue ice cream.

What the hell happened between Noah and Ama? Noah tries to smile but looks heartbroken. And Noelle keeps nagging him about Ama. I clear my throat and stand up. "Noah? Do you have a minute? I need some fitness advice."
