Ang tatlong salita na yun ay nanatili sa utak ko.Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit hinahanap niya si ateng.Ano ang kailangan niya dito? Is this about our parents? Or what? Naguguluhan ako.Nanatili kami nakatitig sa isa't isa.
Another call was made about ten minutes later. At first inakala ko na ama iyon ni Vince pero hindi its his grandfather calling.
"Yes grandpa...uh I'm with her po" I want to hear what they are talking about kaya nanatili ang mata ko sa hawak na phone ni Vince napansin niya naman iyon kaya ni loudspeaker niya ang tawag.Rinig ko sa background ang komusyon na nangyayari.
"...He was send to ER" iyon ang narinig ko dugtong sa usapan nila.
"What happened?"I mouthed not wanting to interrupt them.
"The doctor said its mild stroke...Can you come over here grandson? I want to talk to you personally with Ysabella..." agad na nagtagpo ang mata namin dahil sa sinabi ng grandpa niya.
"Is that necessary grandpa?"he asked back cautiously.
"Its important grandson and about your father request...can you also bring Reanne along?"my breath hitch. I dont know what to react. Ano ang kailangan niya kay ateng? My continuous questions will only stop in that particular question.I saw how Vince brow furrowed.
"Okay we will be there at any minute now"he said coldly..
"And can you please do his request now?he's not really in a good condition right now."
"I'll try-"he breathily said yet cut out by his grandfather.
"Do it young man..." he commanded.Walang nagawa si Vince kundi pumayag sa gusto ng lolo niya.He look at me trying to figure out what he gonna do now.
"I will ask ateng to come over" I said after a few minutes we settle on his BMW.Natigilan siya
"You dont have to force Reanne to come over bella-"
"But we are talking about your father Vince"I argue.Kumunot lang ang noo niya sa sinabi ko.Kind of weird pero wala na unti unti ko na natatanggap na hindi ko talaga matatakasan ang realidad na ito.We are not living in a fairytale na bigla na lang may magic at maayos ang lahat.
"Okay...thank you"sa huli ay sumuko din siya.I nodded and try to call ateng. At the third ring she answered.
"Hello Nica?oh bakit?" I heard a stereo on.Maybe na sasakyan siya ngayon.I try to calm myself for a couple of times. I dont even know if she will agree with this I am just trying my luck.
"C-Can you come over to hospital ateng?"I can't finish the last word without trembling.
"Hah?why?h-hey what happened?"puno ng concern ang boses niya.I dont know why I feel so bothered.Parang may mali.Parang may maling mangyayari kapag pumunta kami sa hospital ngayon or is this just my guilt? dahil sa mga sinabi ni Maresse sa akin? Wala naman talaga akong kasalanan dito. Its Vince who argue his father bringing him in that state pero the whole arguement is still about.. me. Hindi ko na alam nalilito ako naguguluhan naguguilty sa nangyayari ngayon.I just wish that whatever Vince father wants from ateng will be...harmless.
"St Luke's Hospital ateng" I stated ng nabasa ko sa tapat namin ang pangalan ng hospital
"Okay we're coming over hang in there nica"I can sense her panic from her voice pero hindi ko kayang iassure that I am completely fine.Yes physically but my mind is so fuck up. I hang up.
